I'm not really sure where to put this. None of the subforums seemed right for this question, so I'm going to post it here. Now, I use Steam a lot. When I downloaded MWO one of the first things I did was add MWO to my library as a non-steam game so that when I play my friends can see that I am currently playing MWO. But I have a problem here. One of my friends who has done the same thing has no problem. When he is in-game it shows him as such. But for me, when I launch MWO it shows me as in-game for about five seconds and then puts me right back to just plain old "online" mode. Has anyone else tried to do what I have done and ran into the same issue? If so, did you ever fix it and what did you do?

Steam Won't Display Me As In-Game.

Add the shortcut as
MWOClient.exe -nopatch
instead of MechwarriorOnline.exe
It will launch skipping the patcher so you'll have to launch the normal shortcut to update whenever there is an one.

Well I thought this was working perfectly until I tried to log in. Upon log in it loads up my mech bay and then spits me back out to the login screen with the error message "Unknown Failure". But if I run it using MechwarriorOnline.exe is lets me log in just fine.

It could be AV/firewall related since MW is now running as a non privileged user. Try disabling anything you have and test it, if this works you'll need to add an exception.
Otherwise you could try the repair tool etc
