First bet Guillotine, second bet Grasshopper.

Heavy seems most likely and I'm leaning towards it being a 70-tonner.

My honest bet is on a heavy mech. But PGI did somewhat confirm a medium would be down the pipe. My guess?

Heavy: 70 Ton Guillotine

Medium: 45 Ton Vindicator

Yea, the Guillotine would be nice. Only problem I have is they make it look too similar to the JM6.

What about the other 20some humanoid mechs that have only slightly distinct differences? At least it wouldnt look like the rest of them.

After collecting 70some mechs theres no point in getting new ones, unless something looks cool everything has the same weapons available, you just pick the mech with the best hardpoint allocation and ergonomics to facilitate survivability. From there ecm and jumpjets are nice.

Im not disgruntled about the games slow release of things, im disgruntled about the lack of variety as a result of no new weapons being introduced for the last year and a bit now and that all the mechs look the bloody same.

Timeline needs to advance before new weapons get released. Might help if they balanced these.

There are many other weapons that exist without clans implementation at this period of our "one to one timeline"

Such as...

It'll be heavy, that's about all we know for almost sure.

Grasshopper is a good chance, though IMO it's boring as all hell. It's about as exciting as a 70 ton Quickdraw. People say they want it, and yet once it's in the game...*booooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrringggggggggggggggggggggI*
I'd take a Guillotine because it looks cooler. Both rather bland rides however.

Guillotine is one of my favs (It's my icon of choice at the Catalyst BTech boards) but Grasshopper is more time period friendly.

Kintaro, Highlander.

Both from the same age as the Guillotine.

While available in the period, unless your talking the Com Guards, they are less common than the Grasshopper is among the Great House militaries or mercs.

Cestus or Caesar would be good fits. Caesar falls on the year for 3049 as it's first production year and the Cestus is an old Star League design meaning it'd be faction neutral.

I'm still personally hoping for the Warhammer even if we can only get it in the 'Reseen' art style. That goes for the Archer and several other designs as well.

Hopefully the Mauler, which should have been released instead of the Banshee.

They should announce the Unseen mechs on April 1.

Personally i like the Archer and Marauder Phoenix art, personally would have liked to see them use the full on Phoenix look of the T-Bolt when they worked on it but in the end it was a really good pick-and-choose of what bits were from the original design and what bits were from the Phoenix version.

Vindicator would be sort of like the Blackjack with a single missile slot instead of the ballistics. All energy and one missile - pretty much outclassed in every way by the BJ.

Speaking of the BJ, I'm wondering if PGI's going to announce the BJ-2 with other 3050 'Mechs that haven't launched like the BNC-5S when the Clans hit as an Inner Sphere reinforcement pack?

Grasshopper and Caesar would be cool, but they are outclassed by the 3D.

Black Knight and nothing but. We already got the Highlander despite timeline issues, so now we need its heavy twin.

The Black Knight would be perfect for this game, and the pop-tarts will jump for joy.

The problem with the Caesar is that it's just an updated Cataphract model. I've been hoping the Caesar-3R variant would be added to the Cataphract 'family' in the game, since all the other 3 variants are from further in the future, using tech not currently available. Then they could come out with a Caesar Hero (essentially a 2nd Cataphract Hero) with the funds made off of it justifying the development time/costs of Modelling it for the game.

No point in having the BNC-5S because you can upgrade the 3S to get the same build, but I would love to see the BJ-2 and the CTF-3L... and a CN9-AH.

Koschei !
. . . What do you mean 'objectively terrible'? Okay, okay, how about the
Crossbow !
. . . What do you mean you've never heard of it? Okay, well surely we can use a good old
Ymir !
. . . What, is it too old? Wait, that's supposed to be an assault 'Mech? Huh. How about a nice 'new'
Guillotine !
. . . Hm, well I guess that has promise. . . What? Boring? Well cool you can't go wrong with a
Battleaxe !
. . . Except it doesn't quite have enough variants, does it? Okay I guess that just leaves us the
Exterminator !
. . . Yeeeeah. No.

How sure are we of getting a heavy this time around, really?
