Since a banshee is a creature from Irish mythology, wouldn't it make sense to have an Irish-themed Banshee hero for the month of March? Where did this Aztec stuff come from? If there was a mech with Irish/Celtic designs on it I would buy it immediately.

Greetings all,
Yes the name Banshee can be taken from terra early folk lore, or it could just as easily be from some other form or creature on any of the thousands of planets and systems within this timelines Inner Sphere.
And the Aztec theme designs, again, could be any reference to south American cultures within a few of the Great Houses.
We are talking about a fictitious universe, mostly designed from info and events in the 1970's era. We have hero and champion Mech's that are named after, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, legends or myth's, heck we even have Mech's named for music styles and sounds.
A lot of the Camo themes we have now look interesting, some may even be suited to specific chassis, but as a Camo pattern for something 30 to 100mtrs tall it's not working very well. If we are using these as an identifying pattern during an intense battle, it might be useful. There are many stories throughout the lore of specific units adapting a standard pattern that identified those elements on the battlefield, besides the tactical emblems and markers that all the Mech's displayed. (something we do not have yet) - The decal system.
Until we see a lot more detail within the terrain the use of Camo colors will not truly be something that we need to think about. Hiding these Mech's with matching terrain colours is currently not possible, as we do not even know what maps we are about to land on. Once the launch module is installed, the dropship module (allowing 4 mech's and various Camo's to be saved) there is not much we can do but play with the patterns and colours.
- Although I do find that a small white Mech on Alpine if it's not moving is rather difficult to locate.
I expect to find that when Faction warfare is implemented and a player selects a House Faction, any Mech he pilots in battle should have that Factions decal plastered somewhere on the chassis, as a default id. Not sure how the Merc's will handle that same issue, possible "approved" Merc decal?
