As a big AK20 fan no option for me ^^
This Mech needs to be at top of the front and no 95t longrange support.

Then the LRM isn't a great idea. Not useful short range, and makes you vulnerable in a brawl.

LA MALINCHE

nothing fancy, just works.

The good news is the Banshee is pretty fast, JJs are not the "must have" they once were with the new revisions (can't call it a nerf to have them act like they were supposed to in the first place) and it's arms are pretty bulky, making it more XL viable than the Atlas. Ballistic appears higher mounted also. And even though it has less armor than an Atlas, it's seems tougher, maybe because of the arms absorbing a lot of damage, whereas I could usually take a fair bit of armor off my Atlases arms because they never got hit.

The bad is that the arms seem to sit almost Cataphract low, the loadout, as noted my CarrionCrows is just a flipped BoarsHead meaning rather dull builds, and it is easily the ugliest, most boring design Alex has done for this game, in no way even remotely would any TT player look at it and think "Banshee!" if they hadn't told you what it was. (Sorry Alex, love most of your stuff, but this one ain't it.)

I only use the LRMs at the beginning of a game or if one mechs wants to run away.
Of course I cannot use them in a brawl.

There isn't a whole lot to work with..It's just a boars head with 2 less energy hardpoints a bit less armor for a bit more speed.

Who zombies and doesn't go gimp when its arms are blown off...

STD300
AC20 w/4 tons ammo
LRM20 w/4 tons ammo
4x MLs
DHS
Max Armor

Puts it out at any range. Use the same build in most my Atlas' and my Misery.

So far having amazing success with the banshee havent died to side torso yet but Im being very mindful of its XL equipped side torso's. the speed is actually qite useful but will be even better once fully elited, or tweaked.

The very first game i had on caustic valley without any basics ended up with 4 kills,4 assist, 832 damage, and was 1 of 2 players left on my team with many open sections. All in all this is one tough mech.

Oh ya I WILL NEVER equip a laser in the head as it looks rediculous, BUT it looks like it has a screaming banshee mouth when you take out the energy so I recomend it.

340 engine from the battlemaster, 2PPC, AC10, large laser, 15DHS. can't wait to elite it, because it drives like a tugboat.

too slow for no long range punch, IMO.

Holy crap Bishop! have you actually ever needed 5 tons of ammo for 1 AC10? I hardly ever run out with 3 tons, 4 might be optimal though. But I agree that build does look effective I must say.

had an orphan ton. Didn't want to use a partial ton up, so couldn't just devote it to armor. Didn't want to strip .5 ton of armor, so no AMS, and refuse to put a laser in the mouth, so no more hardpoints really. Thus, MOAR AMMO! And hey, now I just spam that AC and take a lot of shots I might not otherwise, lol.

I don't roll in anything heavier than 70 tons. But if I did own this hero mech, I would go for something like:

LA MALINCHE

I kinda like this one, in that one can build it with minimal additional cost. Might consider it for my alt account (which is C-Bill poor).

I'm still not completely sold on the Banshee itself though. I'm gonna wait for more community feedback. Right now, what I seem to be seeing is: 1.) People who hate the mech (but don't even own it) and 2.) People love it and think it's the best mech ever (probably just rationalizing their purchase).

Outlaw's LA MALINCHE This is the build i have been running, mostly because of crap hit reg against lights right now. Does fairly well and what can i say, i think this thing tanks better than an atlas because of the hitbox layout.

I'm afraid I must echo Bishop's sentiments: It's a hideously ugly design and incredibly boring to boot. It looks like it's a frankenmech made up of older art assets and the only thing unique about it is the shoddy laser in its mouth. Blech!

This is what I'm running. Decent enough speed for a big assault. Able to reach out and touch at long ranges with the LRM. Able to put a pin point shot of 20 damage at good range with minimal heat issues as the PPC and AC10 are side by side. Works well enough for me.

Even after the horribleness that is no skills I managed to get my KDR to almost 1.5 once I finished basic, and my W/L over 1. Definitely has a unique play style though. It's not a brawler, not a LRM boat, and not a sniper. It's truly a jack of all trades and able to be useful in nearly any situation.
