4 meds
AC 20
LRM15
15 DHS

STD 350 engine.

Aside from that you can pretty much copy and paste every atlas build in the books already. There isn't a whole lot to work with..It's just a boars head with 2 less energy hardpoints a bit less armor for a bit more speed.

Though the Ballistic hardpoint does seem to clear obstacles a bit better, or maybe just the head rides lower.

Oh sweet, a thread about the coolest hero Mech ever made! Here's my build, I've had some excellent games in it!

Banshee, baby!

Here you go.

The banshee's seem pretty XL friendly for an Assault mech. Very much like the battlemaster.

Now i've only run it a few times but every time i've gone down to CT.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4f8c061bc88c5bc

I plan on trying out how good the XL is. The one thing the banshee has over an atlas is speed, so Wanna try and use as much of that as possible while still being as cool as possible. Due to all the different weapons and weapon ranges I opted for the regular AC5 over the user intensive UAC5.

Stay cool and murder things.

In seriousness, if I were going to piss away $50 or whatever the cheapest MC package for 7k MC is, I'd probably run this:

LA MALINCHE

Medium lasers and SRM6 taking over from PPC's at point blank range. It would of course run spectacularly hot.

I dunno. I tend to end my matches looking a lot this:

Apologies for the crap resolution. Its not hosted where i would like it.
3 LLs, AC20, Flamer/Medium laser. Works pretty well. Catch someone out in the open and its a pretty nasty alpha.
Currently trying out 2 LLs, PPC, AC10 and Medium Laser.

I run mine with

380XL
2 ER PPCS
1 Gauss
2 Med-Lasers
1 SRM 4
16 DHS

Feels like an Heavy/Assault-Killer, but has weaknesses when facing fast Lights and Mediums

I was trying a lot of different builds. But then i decided to stick to his "special" hardpoints.
In my oppionion one of these special things is his Missileshardpoint with 20 Tubes. So I run my one with a LRM20+A and get some decent results from it.

My loadout
LRM20+A
AK20
3 MedLasers
1 ER Large

Of course you can combine two PPC with one AC10 or 20 but I dont like these "pinpoint-Builds" and his armlasers are very low.

Dropped the XL Engine for a STD 300 so not so quick but can pack a punch at all ranges.

2 x ER LL
1 x LRM 20 (x1,080 ammo)
1 x AC10 (x45 ammo)
STD 300 Engine
Beagle
AMS

Banshee

I'm trying out this setup: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...79d45f0ac33a0a1

I only have six games in it so far, so my experience is obviously very limited, but so far the LM seems good with this setup. I'm a bit surprised at how fast the center torso seems to become stripped of armor when I play, though, but that may be only me that's not used to the 'Mech yet.

I didn't dare run it with an XL engine, so as you can see I've lost quite a bit of speed. Time will tell if this was the right or wrong decision...

The biggest challenge with this build so far is that I prefer to have only two weapon groups (one for each mouse button), and now I have four - guess I'm getting too old keep track of several things at once... :P

sadly... you wasted your money. the mech is garbage. a better use of 30 dollars would have been to light it on fire. the warmth you received from the flames would be of more benefit to you than this mech

my Banshee, I prefer the LBX10 more, so even if I don't get a direct hit, there will be some partial damage at least. able to tag med and light mechs with it most of the time. this is the build I finally settled on after getting a little more than an hours use, 8 drops . had 4 wins, 4 losses, 4 kills, 4 deaths. thought that was pretty good for the first time I used La Malinche. can't wait to master the mech.

380XL
1-er large
1-large pulse
2-med
LBX10-3tons ammo
Lrm10-2tons ammo
BAP
AMS
MAX armor-586
mech weighs 94.9 tons
Heat eff-1.21

I love how every mech is DoA two weeks before anyone has even got it mastered.

All mechs are crap with just basics.

I can see me trying the same, I'm not a big fan of the AC10 - even more so now its even slower. Can't wait to get it skilled up though!

I saw a few Banshees last night. They seemed to do ok, at least when they weren't caught alone and focused to death.

I fooled around in Smurfy's can came up with this. How do you guys think it would work? I'm a little concerned about the smallish engine and resulting lack of torso twist speed.

I like this version better: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...677db29c6dccdb9

AC5 frees up weight to upgrade to another ML and a slightly larger engine, with AMS, and you have a better long range fire support build.

XL version offers even more possibilities: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3f8081e941b775e

As a big AK20 fan no option for me ^^
This Mech needs to be at top of the front and no 95t longrange support.
