I don't know if there is already a thread for this somewhere, b/c frankly I'm too lazy to look.

Now that that's out of the way, will a time come where the "screens" we see on our HUD are actually in their place on the in mech screens?

We'll never lose our HUD, but i do believe the screens need to display a tad more information. I personally haven't looked either or have read myself about them. I hope something is done.

Maybe the HUD's on the pilot's helmet instead. I mean, he could be wearing a 50 pound helmet for something..

I dont' think you guys are understanding me. Yes I realize the screens are supposed to be on the pilots helmet currently.

I'm asking if they are ever going to remove the "weapons / group" screen and "damage picture" screen from the HUD and place them on the empty screens position on the mechs dashboard - where they appear to belong.

It just seems like lazy programming they they created screens capable of showing information, and then just stuck on the HUD to save time and energy.

this wouldn't remove the entire HUD, there would still be the targeting / locking reticles, different messages (overheating / missles / etc), the team information in upper left, etc.... it would just put relevant mech information in a more believable place.

The other screens are supposed to show info related to CW and match progression. For instance, they have mentioned they want to do an attack/defend mode -- a screen might show how many convoy vehicles are left to attack/defend.

So the Mechs information will be displayed on the game HUD.... and the game information will be displayed on the mech screens......

Yeah that's not bassaakwards or anything.

Lol that does sound very backwards. Although I think a few mechs already do show things on those cockpit screens. Heat sinks have been in for a while and a few of my mechs show ammo remaining in specific locations.

I see "mission kills", ammo, and heat sink status. Sometimes these work and sometimes they don't.

I would just like to customize them with animated GIF's. Maybe a Nyan Cat or ******** for trolling spectators...

Agreed, MWO has a very weak informational Hud system compared to the Kool screen input we received from previous Mechwarrior Sim's. B)

What's with the bold text?

Anyways...

No, that's not true, MWO actually provides roughly the same info, just configured a bit differently. I know Mechwarrior 4 showed enemy loadouts, but only in single player.

oh right, back to the "The older games couldn't / wouldn't do it... so we should accept an inferior product"

Sign of a life pro right there.

The HUD is not on the helmet, because if you look around, the HUD does not move with your head movements.

Although, maybe it is projected on the outside of the helmet from somewhere in the cockpit?

It actually does move with the head, hold left control and move mouse...
