like it's so hard to facehump slow mechs, easy in a jager, EASIER in a light mech

That must be why the machine gun jager mech is so good. Oh wait, no. It's trash.

Also, do you ever drive light mechs? Or really anything other than assaults?

so the spider and blackjack can put out the same dmg despite the massive tonnage/speed/size difference? no thankyou.
hardpass.

The blackjack only weighs 45 tons... And no, it would still be able to do more damage.

hardpass.

The Blackjack can do it at over 2 km (that's a bit over a mile and a quarter), the Spider needs to be within 240m to do anything at all. And incidentally the AC/2 should do zero less damage under 120m.

Edited for accuracy.

Fairly certain that you two are getting trolled and wasting your time and a non-player. If this guy thinks that up-DPSed MGs would ruin the world and that Blackjacks, of all mechs, would become OP is a clear indicator.

Ayup. Bit it's still worth not letting his nonsense stand uncorrected.

the range still doesn't make up for ecm (which you don't factor in when you talk about spider at 240m) or the god awful hitboxes

The ECM variant of the spider has no ballistic hardpoints.

idk what to tell you maybe you're bad. i see people in light mechs reaping several kills in a few matches every single day.
and jagermechs up close with machineguns aren't bad, unless that's all they have.

Or maybe you're bad if you're getting killed by jagermechs with machine guns.

Or maybe you're just playing some totally different game, since apparently you think there are ECM spiders running around with machine guns, which isn't something that exists in the game the rest of us are playing.

SDR-5K: 4 Ballistic hardpoints, 1 Energy, no ECM.
SDR-5D: 0 Ballistic hardpoints, 3 Energy, ECM.

Also, the MG does 1 DPS up to 120m, then has a linear damage fall-off from 121 - 240m. At 241m, it does 0 damage.
The AC/2 does 3.85 DPS up to 720m, then has a linear damage fall-off from 721 - 2,160m. At 2,161m, it does 0 damage

Oh, and did I mention the MG has a cone of fire big enough to cover a Commando from head to toe at 120m? It does.

You won't hit what you aim at with a MG at ranges much beyond arms reach.

It does sound cool though.

if it catches me without armor or low on armor sure, why wouldn't it.
on maps like frozen city it's a possibility- esp. with ecm cover, there's plenty a brawl under 90m there, or in your fantasy world you always see the mechs coming from miles away? if caught on low armor or internals they can get the kill, they chew through internals at an alarming rate.

alright so the ecm spider is not the one with machineguns, whatever - still has JJ and is pretty hard to hit due to messed hitbox

-ps. the cone thing does sound awful though, i didn't know there was such a decay on accuracy at 120.

you mean - according to sarna: "The Locust was built exclusively for reconnaissance."

now you want it to go toe to toe with assault mechs??

i have to facedesk.
besides machineguns are plenty powerful when aimed at mechs' backsides. because people put only usually 20 or so armor back there.

what you want is machinegun to do massive dmg to the front side of an atlas.

Let's be realistic here.We all know MWo does not reward playstles other than dealing damage. And recon? who needs it outside of 12 v 12 premades recon is not needed.

Skirmish= clump up all 12 mechs deploy to the same grid to hide behind the same clump of cover while the enemy does the same.

Assault= Skirmish with turrets.Base caps are just not done when exterminating the other team is easyer.

Conquest= Skirmish on the move for the first half second half is babysit/capture points to keep the last couple of enemy light mechs from winning.

No need for recon at all because any game on any map is likely to go down much like any/every other PUG match on that same map.

You know it really seems that they need to split this game into 2 queues. One for lights/mediums and one for heavies/assaults. they seem to want/need a different type of game and PGI is supplying only one type.
