Don't know if this is normal or not by my GPU is reporting 95% GPU utilization on the main screen. GTX 675mx (I know laptop) seems pretty high?

How high is the FPS? press F9. you could try turning v-sync on to reduce the load.

No, there are problems with DX11 in the main screen.

60% on a GTX 770 plus the frame rate is locked to 50 fps and vacillates between the 49 and 50 fps like a crazy chicken.

V-Sync on, but as the frame rate is locked below 60 this is immaterial.

Edit:

Alt Tab was broken when starting in full screen mode, however when I forced myself back to desktop with Cntr-Alt-Del and went back to the game the FPS was back to 60.

However GPU usage is even worse.

Alt Tab is once again functional after forcing windows with Cntr-Alt-Del.

Clearly there are some teething problems here.

Going to launch a game and see how I get on. Will report back.

Edit 2:

In game there are still FPS drops below 60 even though the GPU is running at 60% and the CPU is running at 40%.

I am also monitoring individual core usage with a combination of HWInfo and Riva Tuner OSD. Despite no individual core ever reaching full load there is still inconsistent frame timings and fps drops.

Conclusion

Massively disappointed. I hoped that DX11 would bring optimisations that would eliminate these problems but it runs just as poorly as DX9. Shame. I do not think this game will ever run well.

Edit 3:

After running another match the game has uncontrollable lag and fps drops in DX11, again despite GPU usage at 60% and CPU usage at 50%. Lots of people in chat complaining. I will try a few more but it looks like I will be back to DX9 until another patch or hot fix. Glad to see DX11 here (forward progress is forward progress) but it seems to need a hell of a lot of work.

No thats not normal, but it's not your problem.. the problem lies within MWO. A lot of people have this and PGI already is aware of this. btw, this is NOT a dirx11 problem. This was allready here since UI2.0.

I have managed a 10-15fps increase on my laptop though now that DX11 is enabled while playing. Seems to be locked at 60fps in the main screen though (I think that is the expected number.)

Correct FPS is locked to 60 fps in Mechlab to prevent overheating GPUs, Jabilo please provide support with as much detail about your system and what settings you are running if you suspect performance issues so we can investigate.

I just had this issue also, mechlab/screen is locked to 60 fps. When i changed to dx11 it put 100% gpu load constantly while in the screen. And continued in game.

!00% load for a static u.i. display. I think there is a performance allocation/ no throttle error. In dx9 i am at maybe 40% load

win 7 x64 Radeon 290x 13.12 drivers

yeah it is rendering at 100% gpu load on dx11, i have v-sync enabled anyway to prevent this issue from months back.

Greetings all,

If your wondering what DX version you currently have running you can check using this .

Select the "start" button, in the search box that opens, or from the run command, type "dxdiag" (without the ")

- this stands for DirectX Diagnostic tool
- there are 32bit versions as well as 64bit, but if your in the 32bit window it may show a box to open the 64bit edition.

It will bring up a window, the bottom line on the front page (system tab) will list your current Dx version.

note: the other tab (Display) lets you check your current video drivers version and if there are any problems,
the sound tab for current drivers, and the input for your attached peripherals. (keyboard, mouse, etc.)

If you find you need to upgrade your Dx drivers look here:
http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35

You may have to check your windows update after for additional updates and installs.
- many elements within your graphics are effected by the Dx version, and the ability of your current vid card to display items. The higher the Dx version the better most items within windows and game can be displayed.

Ok some screenies.

First of all the high GPU usage in the main screen. Open the image to full res and look in the top right corner. You will see GPU usage is at 65%. You will also notice that fps is locked to 60 indicating V-sync.

Bear in mind this is a GTX 770 and can run the actual game with full settings at less than 60% GPU.

See below link for full screen image that is clearer.

Yeah, same issue for me; except it's newly even in DX9 pushing my GPU load to 80%. DX11 to 98% in the mechlab. In either case, fans ramp right up and things get really noisy, this is new with this patch (for DX9, of course it is for DX11).

My thread kind of got jacked off topic... I am getting anywhere from 90-100% GPU utilization in the start/mechlab screens of the game.

Is this the expected behavior?

I did notice that my gpu usage in crosfire mode was wonky. My 1st gpu was running at 40% avg while my second gpu was running at 99% the hole time.

I'm also getting max GPU usage on the main screen. FPS is also WAY below 60 @ mechlab.

Crossfire is wonky as well, GPU1 is @ 86% while GPU2 is @ 99%. Whether I'm in the mechlab or in a match, the GPU stats are locked at that. It really kills my heat management. I had to swap my Crossfire cards as this was causing my previous primary card to hit 90C and throttle

Crossfire/SLI haven't been listed as supported yet I believe.

Ive been able to get my crossfire working properly, and figured out why it wasn't load balancing (ATI problem). see this post for a mor indepth solution. http://mwomercs.com/...s-have-working/

While I appreciate the effort, Sir, the GPU usage seems quite high for ~61 fps I see, and would really like to be able to farther down in some what that didn't involve shelling out to RivaTuner Statistics Server, then again once a match has been found. ;)

I can measure the amount of electrical power which is used by my PC. And in the new UI, the Mechlab causes the same amount of power to be drawn as when in a match.
This was the case before any DirectX11 features were added, and I'm using VSync in both situations.

I believe it to be as intended? It's just the case, that the UI 2.0 puts a much higher 3D load onto the system.
