Ever since I started playing (10 days ago) I regularly get stuck when I buy an item, skill, or swap out a component and save. Is there a known issue or a patch I missed? I read somewhere that there was a possible sound issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like you're having a connection issue, and missing packets at the critical moment when you are saving a build or otherwise communicating with the server.

Is it stuck in that it locks up, and you have to kill the client and restart, or just that it takes some time to process? There is always some delay when saving a mech, making a purchase etc. If it last for more than 30 seconds - 1 minute, then there might be a problem.

I've had this issue. It happens at certain times of the day for me. The only thing you can do is kill the game (CTRL Alt Delete) and then reload the game.

It happens at all times of the night and day. Nothing specific. I have gone so far as to get stuck after a purchase, go eat dinner, come back and it is still locked up. I have 105mbps internet that gets an actual 72 or so speed. I don't have any issues with other games, just this one and only with purchases and/or component swaps.

Wireless connection? Or wired?

Also what country/continent are you in?
