Well I've been played for several hundred matches now and had only one disconnect witch i know was caused by a power outage so I'm leaning towards purposeful disconnects. I highly recommend the ban solution to stop the nonsense.

well ban me then i get regular screen freezes, discos[bad INTERNET line here] the PC lock ups are new to me tho. and alt tabbing does not work for me.
not once have i disconnected intentionally , but i get at least 5 to 6 discos a day some of it is due to my bad INTERNET, and some of it since the new patch, then ban me if ya want.

got to say since last patch I have been getting dropped regularly from matches and getting lock ups in the mech area even. then I get kicked off and can't log back in for a bit. and the error message? {unknown failure}, what the heck is unknown failure anyway? MWO is messed up and they don't know why? my guess. but I carry on and play when the game allows me.

my crew has found out that ctrl-alt-deleting and then bringing up the task manager, then switching back to mwo thru it fixes that bug 99% of the time.

Personally haven't had it happen to me in 6 months, but it seems to happen at least once to anyone new we get into the game, and rarely happens after they fix it like that.

You may find you cannot torso twist or aim properly once you come back doing this... But yeah, sometimes it works.

IMHO its kind'a a "smoking gun" to me that so many people are able to play with zero to rare occasioned DCs while other seem to be cursed with them and the rest of people anywhere between.

Clearly some culpability falls on PGI for involuntary DCs... That said, that culpability ends with their code. Jacked up internet connections... de-optimized system configurations... over-clocking... crap memory.... viruses.

Here's my litmus test in regards to qualifying if someone is a habitual DC'er.... If I DC'ed with the frequency that is being purported by some players... Would I even bother to play the game?

So when someone tells me they've DC'ed 25 today, yet continue to "try" to play... Yeah, not buying it. ;)

It was really bad yesterday. I had 8 matches where I get knocked back to mechlab right after I launch. That is really frustrating.

I checked the network and found massive packet losses from the Chicago route but there's nothing I can do to prevent that.

I want to play the game and DC from all these system problem is really turning players away.

my cousin's computer is old but he likes playing with us. Since the last couple of patches he's started getting a popup window error on his screen that he can sort of play with for a while but will eventually crash him. Of course once it pops up he can't see part of his screen....

Ive disconnected at the start of the match, hmm must be 3 times since the last patch.

The reason is my screen freezes, but I can still hear my mech walking. It normally freezes just after i hit full speed.

So, dont jump to conclusions, theres probably a technical reason behind some of the DCs.

I use to have this problem alot, just alt ctrl delete, open task manager and then just click back in game, This should help be your temp fix till something is worked out via a patch. Also i've been dropped from many games due to *unknown error* or a game crash. Would love PGI to make it possible to connect back into the same game you have just dc'd from before you have even loaded in or began.

No offense Jeffery... But you just eluded to that fact that you noted exceptional packet loss routing through Chicago. Then you go on to infer that "All these system problems is really turning players away"...

So in essence you acknowledge a bad internet connection yet continue to imply PGI is culpable for inability to play?
