The Davy Crockets appear in Ideal War being used by a third party during the battle. Immediately both sides cease hostilities and focus on eliminating the third faction.

Nukes are bad, m'kay?

Before the Jihad, the Taurians were a by-word for nuclear weapons. After the Jihad, it was the Regulans of all people.

Interesting observation: Although it was a group of local insurgents that actually fired those tactical nukes in Ideal War, it was the Regulans who supplied them.

A Jade Falcon used a nuke in one book. I don't think it was detonated though. She broke across the truce line masquerading as the Red Corsair. Was going to nuke the whole base to cover it all up in the end. Sorry I don't remember the book, or more of the details.

Oh and the previously not named clan would be Clan Wolverine right?

Natural Selection was the name of the book.

Don't name the name of the name of the unnamed named clan.

According to "Jihad Hot Spots 3070" and "Historical: Reunification War" the sizes are:

Davy Crocket - 0.5 KT
Alamo - 5 KT
Santa Ana - 50 KT
Peacemaker - 500 KT

but its still big enough to blast a mech away:

Yeah, I always thought it was weird that the strongest nuclear weapon in the game was a mere 500kt bomb when we've detonated bombs 100 times as strong in the 20th century. Obviously the person who wrote that was not an expert on nuclear weapon yield.

Easy enough to do when one does not condone the torture and murderous methods that the son of the great father used. Frankly, I can not say I blame Khan Sarah McEvedy for telling Nicholas to go enjoy a nice steaming cup of "go frack yourself" The fighting and waste was put down, examples did not need to be made of individuals.

However that is the past. Now we are who we are quiaff? Personally, I prefer large scale orbital bombardment to nukes. One must after all let the gunnery officers of the fleet get some target practice in every now and then. Though speaking for myself, and I am sure for the rest of my clan as well, those targets would be strictly military. Wholesale slaughter of civilian innocents is very wasteful and goes against what the clans stand for. Murder such as that is the speciality of the great houses.

Considering that virtually NOBODY knows the details of what happened to tip off the woverine's trial of annihilation ... I find the clanners attitude on this mess to be a prime example of their henious conformist culture.

Nobody even knows if it was the wolverines that used the nuke or what happened to trigger it's use.

It's just as liable that bad old st. nick was just an egotistical controlling scumbag who stole from the wolverines and made an example of them because they, gee, didn't take well to an egotistical controlling scumbag stealing from them... as it was that the wolverines were the boogiemen that the surviving clans make them out to be.

But, of course, clanners aren't able or allowed to find out the truth of such questions in anything like a public way. Doing so would be a good way to have your own personal trial of annihilation. Maybe also for all of your blood kin who had nothing to do with your actions too.

hence why i dont like most clans i like ghost bear and sea fox / diamond shark and clan wolf and i may only like the bears because of not having had the huge time to read up on them and wolf cuz i feel sorry for how jade falcon treated them
