The Clantech "Gausszilla" has more firepower, yes.
The Omega has around twice the armour of that design.

If it makes it to any form in MW, as long you get any mech behind it, it can't turn around to shoot you

I've made a lot of designs, got Heavy Metal Pro at home. I'll have to remember this thread and post them later.

Almost a Predator or RFL-6X Rifleman.
The Bandersnatch sees your loadout, and raises you 2 ML and 3 LRM-5.

Thanks, I don't like XL engines though and was trying to avoid them in the design - it makes it cheaper and a bit more survivable while being buildable at the start of the game timeframe. The Bandersnatch looks like a fun mech to fight.

Still, it cuts the firepower coming your way down to 2/5th.

Mahusay

Designed by Clan Diamond Shark as a garrison 'mech for urban centers and factory complexes, the Mahusay (meaning Great Shark) is about as heavily armed a support 'mech as one can find in the medium weight class. In typical cost-conscious Diamond Shark fashion, it carries no special upgrades such as an endo-steel chassis or ferro-fibrous armor However, rather than being a drawback, many warriors see this as an advantage, as it usually means that should the 'mech be damaged it can be rapidly and easily repaired by the factory at which it is stationed.

In combat, the Mahusay uses its twin arm-mounted ER PPCs to strike at enemies from long range. It also carries a pair of LRM-5s, which can be used to pepper the foe as it closes. It is somewhat weaker at close range, as it carries only a pair of ER Small Lasers in the torso for backup. Defensively, the Mahusay makes use of CASE to protect against explosions of the LRM ammo, and 10 tons of standard armor. An Anti-Missile System rounds out the 'mech's defensive complement.

Bah. You'll usually win the 100 meter dash but with any race that requires endurance you'll cripple yourself within 5 minutes.

Hate to point this out, but your design is overweight by a half ton at least. The Gyro rounds up to the nearest ton. Even the XL versions.

My copy of TechManual tells me otherwise.
Page 50, Add Gyroscope, line 7-10.

Quote

To find the gyro’s final weight, multiply this tonnage by the appropriate multiplier given in the Master Gyroscope Table below (rounding up this final result to the nearest half-ton).

The base weight for a 280-rated gyro is 3 tons, the XL-gyro's weight multiplier is 0.5, so the final gyro weight is 1.5 tons.

Isnt the final weight still rounded up to the nearest ton? thats how I read it. And I cant seem to locate a mech in the TO's that use a light Gyro. still looking.

Edit: couldnt find any with an XL gyro that gave half a ton measurement on any mech (looked through TO 3085) but I did see half ton measurements for Compact Gyro, so I will retract my former statement, and delete my post about rounding the Gyro up to the nearest ton.

I remember way back when the biggest a mech could get was 100 tons, and when gauss weapons were new shiny toys. My brother built a 100 ton modified King Crab with 2 Star League Gauss Cannons, 3/5/3 movement, and 9 medium lasers. He called it the Consumate
