I'd go with the Sony Xperia Z2 line personaly if you go Android. Samsung seems to forget their old products as soon as they release a new one. Sony seems to be more loyal to their product lines.
I have no experience and Win8.1 for phones, so I can't give you any advise on those.

Im using a Sony Xperia Z1 and it is pretty good phone with useful feature.
If you pick up the older Z model it would be cheaper now that Z2 is out.
Previously was using a Sony Xperia Pro.
If you have a Sony TV at home, you can hook them up with HDMI cable.
Why would want to do that? Because why not?
