Hi,

This isn't a new idea but it is inspired by discussions raging on the forums due to a lack of clarity in some posts by PGI.

As a new feature: could we get clear, concise and responsive communications between PGI and their fans/audience/customers?

As an example of a simple issue that could be rectified by one post:

Paul Inouye cited server statistics on solo vs. group launches as part of a command chair presentation. A significant number of people would like to know what a "launch" is ... does it refer to individual players or to a launch request to the server representing 1 to 4 players for each launch?

Why is this important?

Well 84% solo launches could be 84% of the players are solo and only 16% are in groups ... if launches refers to players. On the other hand, if a launch can be 1 to 4 players then the 84% solo launches actually represents 66% of players and 34% drop in groups (not including 12-mans). This is a large difference ... it affects discussions about matchmaking and the size of the available player base that could be recruited to player run merc corps or other organizations. There are a lot of good reasons why folks would like to know what these numbers actually mean. However, despite posts from a lot of people in a number of different threads the only clarification has been a reference to a podcast in which Bryan (apparently) says that 84% of players drop solo. So maybe it is players ... or maybe there is still a misunderstanding ... all of which could have been clarified some time ago by a 2 line post in a relevant thread.

It is a small example ... but it is unfortunately representative of a general inability to communicate clearly, concisely and responsively with the folks who are ultimately paying for the game.

So my feature request is for better, clearer, more concise and responsive communications between the developer and the fans/customers/interested parties since I think such a strategy can only improve the relationship between the company creating the game and those participating in and paying for it ...

Maybe Garth had said something like this in his last Board meeting?
