If I recall right, my "best" is 7 kills with 470dmg
I'm a shitty player, I don't do damage, I just kill'em.

i recently did 1265 damage 3 kills 7 assists in my shadow hawk for a match score of 158
3 machine guns 4k ammo
3 streaks 400 missiles
and a med laser...
doing the calculation i didnt miss much with my ammo was nuts

the next round i got a match score of 148 with a firestarter- Ember

just seemed like i was on a roll was very crazy to say the least

light: Jenner - 1269
medium: KTO - 1495 (no lrms)
heavy: K2 - 1150 (gauss)
assault: stalker 3F - 1270 (no lrms)

Had higher in all 3 using lrms, not downplaying them but I just don't count it.

scoring system is so out of whack in this game anyhow, lol. It totally skews and rewards LRM and SSRM spamming over actual precision kills. I posted the above match only a couple weeks ago. Highest score I have ever done. Not Highest damage (though close) and not highest kills (I believe that was 9). But while I feel I did pretty good considering the nature of my weapons, I feel I had a more "skilled" game this week running my La Malinche, where I did (previously incorrectly reported, sorry that) 402 damage. And got 4 kills. Lightest was a Griffin which had the only damage. The other 3 were untouched, and I solo'd them with 2 LPL, an ER PPC and an LB-X. In all 4 cases, with about 2 volleys each, I was patient and landed 95% of my shots to a single location on each, popped their STs and XLs and moved on.

IMO, THAT took a heck of a lot more "skill" to accomplish than doing 1000 plus damage with missiles. And I'm pretty sure my Quartermaster and techs preferred it, too.

How do you guys get so much damage? O_o

Best I've ever had was something like 595 with my dual ERPPC RVN-4X. I pass it off as being more efficient damage, but is there some sort of trick to ending up with those kinds of damage scores?

I haven't taken the time to try but I imagine it requires killing an enemy weapon by weapon limb by limb. Lots of ammo and a couple deadly ammoless weapons.

When killing gets old and boring go for the slow component death.

In my case, it usually requires mediocre teammates (not bad, bad means you end up fighting 12 v 1 very soons, and that is NOT conducive to good matches. Mediocre ones stay alive a decent bit of the game, at least acting as meat shields to let you do your damage.) usually mediocre opposition and preferably a lot of Assault Mechs. That way you have to drill through a lot of armor to get the kill. Last ingredient, use non precision weapons, like LRMs, SSRMs and SRMs (when the hits register) and VOILA!!!!!!

You can be in the 1000 damage club too!

but yea.. it was because of the premade.. you are absolutely right.. the three others in my lance literally sacrificed themselves by running around screaming "come and get me.. you worthless pile of metal". They did this so i could get a big score.
But then again.. you are an elite founder. you know best !!

ah, so you are saying that having 3 semi coordinated wingman had nothing to do with it, and you do that regularly pugging?
Seriously, get over yourself, and stop reading more into things than are written. Look at the damage scored by the rest of the players. Rissen and h0wl alone have respectable stats. So either you are a god amongst men, or as usually happens when one gets such a score, you faced a crap team and things went your way.

When I get 1200+ damage from a Dakka build, its usually because I made it a point to hide behind the fat mechs on my team and aim at fat mechs on the red team in a long winded game. Not too much skill related stuff going on, but it is fun to hear 'BOOM-BOOM-BOOM' in my nice headphones for a while sometimes. No need for a premade to do that.

How much of that damage was from well placed art and strikes?

I find my big damage games usualy comes from a lucky or awesomely placed arty etc.

A good bit of my high scoring matches, my team does not win. The 1495 game I killed 4 people but we lost. Its just switching targets allot to try and keep them back. Then ending up having to fight multiple guys at end "hopefully" near death when they get close. (mix ranged builds mostly)
