Attn Devs: Quickdraw Request

With a name like Quickdraw, give it some Ballistic hardpoints!!!!! Screw lore, we need a rootin tootin, AC wielding, John Wayne/Clint Eastwood channeling COWBOY mech!!!!!
Maybe a Ballistic Hero version?!?!?!
We know you take liberties with the Hero versions (Grid Iron for example), so how about a little Quickdraw love?
If you feel the same way, let the Devs know here.

8 energy hardpoints,320 XL,endosteel,DHS
or
6 missile hardpoints,2 energy,300 XL,endosteel,DHS
or
2 ballistic hardpoints,1 per arm,4 energy hardpoints,300 XL,endosteel,DHS
300 XL gives about 24 tons of payload to work with
name suggestion:
"Stand and Deliver"
or
"Fragarach" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragarach

With the exception of the more recently released Thunderbolt, the QKD is the only heavy chassis without either a Hero or Champion variant.
Keep the requests coming, I'm on a campaign.

Here is my Fragarach concept, only thing missing is the AC:s in the arms or torso, dump the extra 2 medium lasers for 4 ballistic hardpoints (hands + torso for the freedom of choice, energy to the torso) and replace them with ammo or more jump jets.
Its basically a jumpy jägermech c-bill printer

With the LRM buff this week, the 4H might be worthwhile as an LRM chassis.
But I still want my Dakka Quickdraw

YES.. I have been waiting for a ballistic Hero Quickdraw, I would absolutely buy one. Mabe 2 ballistic in the LA, 2 missle RT, and 1-3 energy in the RA

It would make little sense to not put the ballistic hardpoint in the arm. Pew pew!

It would be more reasonable to propose adding jump jets to a Dragon.

However, there is precedent for it, as set by the X-5 (the only Cicada with missile launcher mounts) and the Misery (the only Stalker with a ballistic weapon mount).
IMO, some of the sentiment of calling for a ballistics-toting Quickdraw comes from the "Old West" portrayal seen in the MWO intro post and the (in the US, at least) usual connotations of the very name.
Personally, I imagine that the stock loadout of such a concept would be twin AC/2s, one in each arm (as a light, quick-firing ballistic to invoke the image of the dual-pistol-wielding gunslinger), with a smattering of secondary weapons (either or both energy & missiles) within the torso sections (probably something like the arrangement of the QKD-4G's torso hardpoints).
Though, it would have to come with some additional limitations to offset its unique capabilities - the complete loss of jump capability should be sufficient, IMO.

I understand the idea of the gunfighter, but if you look at what the Quickdraw was built to do, it just doesn't fit with light ballistics- and that's tantamount to weight limitations as well.
I suppose you could claim name fiat, but by the same rote, the Flame should have been a flamer-wielding Dragon, a Thunderbolt hero built around PPCs primarily should show up, a Stalker with ECM and/or Beagle as standard equipment needs to be around in place of the Misery, an ECM Shadow Hawk hero is warranted, the Firebrand (as a Jaegermech/Rifleman) shouldn't be energy weapon focused, and so on and so forth.
Besides, it's not like there's a serious lack of autocannon-wielding heavy 'mechs.

Eli,
Yeah, I hear you. I agree with most of your points. But, I don't think a Hunchback called "Grid Iron" is BT cannon either. I wouldn't expect a standard variant to have ballistics. It would be a "Just for Fun" variant. You don't see may Quickdraws in game as it is, and this could encourage the "Cowboy" fans in the player base to at least try out a Quickdraw. We all know Ballastics are king in game Meta anyway, so why not throw the Quickdraw a bone?

Attackers: 78th Elemental Support Binary (68th Striker Cluster, Delta Galaxy) Defenders: Sheliak Professional Football League Major Battle Site: Kurita Stadium Outcome: Of little strategic value and with no military to defend them the planetary government of Sheliak was in a state of panic when the commissioner of the Sheliak Professional Football League, Jimmy "Straight Jim" Lorne, proposed something bold. Believing the Clans knew nothing of the rules, he proposed that the fate of the planet be decided by a game of "American" football: if the Ghost Bears won they could claim the planet, if they lost Sheliak would remain free. Desperate the planet's governors consented to the plan, and to their surprise the Ghost Bears agreed to play. Unfortunately they had no idea that the Clans still played the game, nor had they counted on the opposing team being composed of eight-foot-tall Elementals. The final score of the game was 84 to 3, and in the postgame show the planetary government officially handed Sheliak over to the Ghost Bears.[17]
The quick takes its name from its ability to spin its arms up backwards and fire from both directions. It is NOT a reference to ballistic weaponry

Thank you for the research. I see your point concerning the Football reference.I have never read a BT novel and probably never will. What I know about BT I have learned here and from a close personal friend who also plays MW:O I have played most of the Mechwarrior PC titles and they are about the only genre of games I've played except for flight sims.
However, I really don't care about lore. I want my Quickdraw to have ballistics. It's that simple. Perhaps my Grid Iron comment was not entirely correct. But is there really a reference to a Football themed Hunchback in any of the novels or technical readouts?
I conceded in my original post I wasn't interested in BT lore. I want my Quickdraw to have ballistics and I'm sure there are others that could feel the same way.
Please don't crush my dreams under your Assault mechs feet.
Dakka, Dakka,
Jody

I've long been a proponent of both dramatically longer (and canonical!) recycle times for the vast majority of the weapons and remodeling the ACs as the multi-shell burst-fire weapons described in BT canon (both lore and gameplay rules).
Provided either or both of those are what PGI has in mind... I welcome the changes!
