So, the Banshees are out (for MCs).

Those who bought it can please share your experience with us?

Is the BNC-3E really effective?

Is the BNC-3M really awful?

Is the BNC-3S really a beast?

banshee is the only one who can reach almost 100 firepower without missiles.

That makes me wet.

I only got in 1 game with each except the 3M it looks bad and I have the hero.

The 3S is going to be a beast I have mine set up as a midrange brawler, and it hit really hard in a short period of time I was very happy with its performance. I think Im going to like this one the best.

The 3E I set up with 2 AC5,1 AC2, and 3 MPLs. I forgot to change the stock armor so I got CTd way to quickly but the dakka was fun while it lasted. I think I will be switching to 3 AC5s and 3LLs however.

I don't think 3 Large makes much sense. 2 Large and 3 AC/5 with 7 Tons of ammo and a 325 engine seems to be where i'd go.

your link doesnt work for me, and 7 tons of ammo isnt enough for 3 AC5s to last a whole match.
Heres my 3LL, 3 AC5, (9 tons ammo) perfectly viable though a little slow 57 KPH.

Yes its slow for my liking but it is a gun boat support mech, heat efficiency is fine as i will only be frng the LLs in chain fire with mouse 3 and 4 being an emergency alpha.
AC5s act as a perfect cool down firng group aswell,

I'd drop 3 tons of armor off that build (arm, arm, legs), add 3 heat sinks to the engine, and upgrade both Large Lasers to ER Large Lasers. Better range and improved heat efficiency.

But I'm with you regarding the number of large lasers and the 325 engine. You need a massive alpha strike on an Assault if you want to be effective with anything smaller than a 325.

57kph and no jump jets basically means you are a sitting duck. Especially with where the mounts are for weapons.

Not to mention 3 Large Lasers if you are firing in chain fire seems like a waste.

@Roadkill, yeah I didn't play with the armor, but you are right. Though I might go 2 HS and 1 ton of Ammo. or just stay with 2 Large Lasers and go 10 tons of ammo on the AC/5s.

But really? Without jump jets, I feel like this is one of those "I'll murder newbs who stand in front me" build, that'll get owned by anyone with any lick of sense and manuverability.

I was cheap with my 3S - I only upgraded to double heat sinks but kept the stock slow engine and no endo. 2 PPCs in the RT, AC20 in the LT, an ER PPC in the LA, and I kept the SRM-6 because it looks so cool on his shoulder. If you take the PPC out of the arm whatever you replaced it with looked really weak and it bothered me so much it got a third PPC for long range or when the 2x PPCs are in min range.

I've been playing like crap with it because I'm on a 13" gaming laptop and its hard to see what I'm shooting at.

I mean, theoretically AC/20 and Dual PPC is still nasty as hell.

I just don't like where the weapons sit on the thing.

not double PPC - double PPCs with a third ER PPC

but yeah, the weapons are pretty low, except the SRM6 but SRMs are pretty crappy as a single.

The 3E is the only good one. Possible loadouts:

x2 PPC, x3 AC5, STD
x2 UAC5, x2 AC2, x4 medium laser, STD
x3 PPC, x2 AC5, XL
x2 PPC, x1 LL, x2 AC5, x1 AC2, XL

So far the 3E is the most powerful mech I have used to date, literally my first 3 games I played with the quad 2 loadout.

The 3M is great for lulz with 8MLs and a 400SD engine. ;)

Interestingly, it can ridge hump with 6 of those lasers as they are placed high on the shoulders. The other two are hip-mounted. If you want ppcs however you'll have to expose your whole torso. ;)
