So with today's annoucement from Crytek, and the soon-to-be-released Cryengine port to Linux, does that mean we might see a MWO port on the horizon?

I imagine you'd gain access to a whole new demographic by making the game inter-operable between the two platforms; I can't be the only one who's desperately trying to abandon Windows, but still holds on because games like MWO aren't available.

Microsoft owns the Mechwarrior IP.
In a nutshell, that means Windows or Bust. No PS /Wii/ MacOS /BeOS /Unix /Linux ports ALLOWED, and XBox ports require a separate license (which AFAIK PGI neither has nor intends to acquire)
This is not to say that you couldn`t run it on Linux with a Windows emulator, but it will probably not be natively supported by the game itself in the forseeable future.
