How do you look at the layout of a mech before you buy it? With UI 2.0 I don't see a way to do that.

sadly PGI is used to other places being more useful and having more information then they themselves offer.

if you think im wrong look at the fact they havnt updated their own websites mech information in months.

Information is ammunition.

UI 2.0 is designed to make us run dry of it.

Yeah, you can't.

You also can't see how many heatsinks you have equipped without physically counting them.
You also can't see what size engine is in it (only what speed)
You also don't know how many jumpjets you have equipped without physically counting them.
You also have to do some quantum calculation on the effective and max range of a weapon extrapolating from a graph chart how many smidgens it is to the nearest rounded number.

Or just go offline and lookk at smurfy.

They were going to do that but then it occurred to everyone: Whoa Whoa Whoa.....we do it right the first time it will get boring. Lets leave room for improvement!

No worries, Improvement is coming.

I kind of feel bad for the people who have a ton of 'mechs in their inventory. I have five (well, six since some negligent officer left an abandoned Centurion on my doorstep), and I more or less know their specs, equipment and capabilities inside-out. I have no idea how I'd ever keep track of a dozen, or twenty, or fifty.

You're funny.

im at about 56 mechs right now and frankly i dont even play 3/4th of them anymore, i get them, i play them i master them (assuming the mech doesnt end up being crap or i can't find a good loadout with it) and then they collect dust unless i REALLY liked a load out for it.

Or if the latest meta/patch kills the loadout i like for example i loved my JM6-DD with 4 ac/2 but ghost heat kinda killed that one and i dont chain fire i always group fired yet my loadout is still punished.

I just feel like im wasting time playing a mech thats maxed out i guess ive gotten addicted to bread crumbs but sadly MWO gives them way too slowly so i maybe play 2-4 matches a week now.

If you go into the mechlab and change the filter to purchaseable mechs, you'll get the same mouseover loadout that you get on your already owned mechs and you can click buy right there.

Cheers

The heat added to group firing four AC/2 is negligible.

Yeah kinda ridiculous when you consider layout is one of the major things that distinguishes variants.

I mean, do they expect me to able to tell the difference between a FS9-K and an FS9-A just by looking at the model?

i know ghost heat on 4 is minimal but its just principal of the thing on top of everything else.. 4 to me would have been perfect cut off but they went with 3??? on top of having the super ghost heat for chain fire.
