A light, for speed in and out, or a medium/heavy for survivability?

What's the best mech for making cheese soufflés?

Were NARC to be a thing worth doing, I'd lean light. JR7-K specifically. Deliver air and arty while you're in the neighborhood.

Trebuchet 7M, has a specific narc tube(super accurate srm anyone?). Mech is a fast Missile platform.

NARC buffs are coming Terciel, so it's worth discussing/theorycrafting

Just off the top of my head, I'd probably use a Shadowhawk, Kintaro, or similar; Relatively quick, but tough enough to survive a brief encounter long enough to slap some NARCs and get out of the way. Obviously you want to ensure you have allies equipped with LRMs and in the correct position to capitalize on the advantage.

will be a silver bullet for killing DDCs, who are of course the largest/slowest target you want to NARC to cut their ECM.

Raven 3Ls aren't bad for it either, if you can spare the weight. The mixture of speed, ECM and armor mean it can usually come in unnoticed and drop a NARC without even getting touched. If it does, you can bail without taking too much damage most of the time. They also have that dedicated NARC tube in the left arm.

Thanks. I'm bouncing back and forth between an X-5 and a Shadowhawk with it right now to see what works best.

I know. That's why I edited in an answer. :P

I suspect at 4-5 tons it's still way too resource intensive for what it does, but the JR7-K is the perfect fit if not: you wouldn't be able to practically use the other missile hard point of the D, so the extra module slot of the K makes it appealing: highly agile and can deliver the NARC (and consumables, I lean to both strikes and UAV on a support build like this) and still carry decent backup weapons. On a bigger mech (i.e. doing it yourself), TAG is still going to be highly preferable, IMO. Maybe on the CPLT-A1?

You're not wrong, but what a waste of a 3L!

Funny enough - from what I have read about it's lore, the Kintaro was first built specifically to carry and use the NARC.

I worry about using a Trebuchet. Mainly because Hunchback armor on an Atlas-height mech...

Kintaros are meant to deliver narcs and have both better armor and missile equipment than Trebuchets.

I can easily imagine a Kintaro with a NARC, LRM-20 + Artemis, and 3 Streak SRM-2s.

Yeah, but putting a NARC tube in that arm is a complete waste of lulz. Put an LRM15 or 20 there instead. :(

I think if you really want to use narc you could do a narc boat. Locust 3s with max engine and as many narcs as you can carry. Works great when your team is missle heavy. Dies to everything else so run forest run.

Sadly, the LCT-3S has only one AMS.
If you're willing to run painfully light on ammo, you could do a NARC and two streaks.

There's no contest. The Raven 3L is designed to deliver narcs in style. The fact it has so much style it can do a million other things instead, is a different matter... <_<
