............ Did not watch the minimap and yelled at my PC..............
Dear nooooooobz
see this part right here? Yes, you also do that, and it makes you suck, so you should stop it, and PAY ATTENTION to wtf is happening around you. maybe then when MM uses me to balance your team, i wont have to cry man tears at how unbeliveably oblivious you are to what is not only killing you, but the rest of your team even though you are in a position to stop it.
As for the rest of it, INDEED, once you become aware of the battlefield, and actually use the minimap and look at your radar, lighter mechs make or break the match. Because, while in a big mech, you rely on the rest of your team to hang out by you, make a normal decision about where togo and flank, because you are big and slow and have to rely on them to hang out by you. When you play something speedy, this is no longer the case.
now you can respond to the fight, and something like a trollmando allows you to respond to pretty much any part of the fight.
Take, the Death Snail. at 171kph, with 4 arm mount ML, you are the scalpel You see your team mate(s) fighting something, you dash across the map in no time flat, and you use rediculously easy to aim precisly, responsive like all get out arm lasers to focus the enemy mech, to retain LOS and target lock for the missle boats(as your less speedy, less skilled team mates lose target behind them and behind a rock etc) and slice off side torso and open up rear CT etc, leg that light mech, etc. You may not do the most dmg to the mech, you might not get the kill. but really, you got the kill by legging that light so your fatlas pal can AC20 it in the face, by opening the back of the Atlas up so the next time he turns around he gets plastered(or if he doesnt you do it) by using your BAP or ECM to counter annoying 5D spider ECM- all of these things are as important and more so then the actual kill, because you facilitated it.
You dont have to be a wizard at MWO, or get all the kills to win and enjoy the game. Once you learn to be aware, you are better then 50% of the rest of the players, and once you get the hang of aiming and moving etc, now you are ready to stomp face in any mech, with almost any loadout(tag boat hunchback etc excluded)
