I post not to discourage but to empower the average Noobster as a beacon of Hope and light! There is a light at the end of the tunnel and rewards will come for those who seek. When I 1st started playing this game I made all the noob mistakes. Rushed into the enemy LeeeeeRooy!! JenKins!! style to a fiery death time and time again. Put unrealistic load-outs on mechs that had no real coring factor. Did not watch the minimap and yelled at my PC while the screen shook from srm , lrm , AC fire. I have been a member for 4 months and will show you some stats. You will improve, You will make it up the basic/elite/master tiers and unlock your true potential. Fear not the game has only improved since I have joined on and expect even greater play in the months years to come. I found that the heavier mechs were the easiest to master and get good brawls in but boy was I wrong. As I got better I found that the true Monster mechs were the little ignored Light demons stalking the battlefield. They make and or break the mission. I will show a stat that you can annihilate in a BH atlas or med or light mech. I typed my mech type in the dialogue window after each match with that mech type all of these are from the last 3 weeks or so. Posted Image

Most of these were done just pugging. I do better with 3 or 4 competent teamworkers but it can be done by yourself pugging as long as you try to support your team and I use NO modules YET! I have 1 used it just a few times advanced ZOOM!. I was thinking of getting seismic , 360 degree target retention. Not sure yet.

Have you considered joining us Lyrans under the Steiner flag Saltbeef. A Commando is the first mech to be designed and constructed that wasn't recycled lost tech by our government and we would be happy to have you representing us in the field.

Thanks you very so much for the offer and If I was able to role play both sides and use my innersphere mechs I would defiantely take you up on that offer.... but!.... I have purchased a full clan pack and am currently thinking / attempting to join a Clan and liberate the Inner Sphere from it's Freebirth Tyranny. Oh just wait for the 2c lights. .

Dear nooooooobz

see this part right here? Yes, you also do that, and it makes you suck, so you should stop it, and PAY ATTENTION to wtf is happening around you. maybe then when MM uses me to balance your team, i wont have to cry man tears at how unbeliveably oblivious you are to what is not only killing you, but the rest of your team even though you are in a position to stop it.

As for the rest of it, INDEED, once you become aware of the battlefield, and actually use the minimap and look at your radar, lighter mechs make or break the match. Because, while in a big mech, you rely on the rest of your team to hang out by you, make a normal decision about where togo and flank, because you are big and slow and have to rely on them to hang out by you. When you play something speedy, this is no longer the case.

now you can respond to the fight, and something like a trollmando allows you to respond to pretty much any part of the fight.

Take, the Death Snail. at 171kph, with 4 arm mount ML, you are the scalpel You see your team mate(s) fighting something, you dash across the map in no time flat, and you use rediculously easy to aim precisly, responsive like all get out arm lasers to focus the enemy mech, to retain LOS and target lock for the missle boats(as your less speedy, less skilled team mates lose target behind them and behind a rock etc) and slice off side torso and open up rear CT etc, leg that light mech, etc. You may not do the most dmg to the mech, you might not get the kill. but really, you got the kill by legging that light so your fatlas pal can AC20 it in the face, by opening the back of the Atlas up so the next time he turns around he gets plastered(or if he doesnt you do it) by using your BAP or ECM to counter annoying 5D spider ECM- all of these things are as important and more so then the actual kill, because you facilitated it.

You dont have to be a wizard at MWO, or get all the kills to win and enjoy the game. Once you learn to be aware, you are better then 50% of the rest of the players, and once you get the hang of aiming and moving etc, now you are ready to stomp face in any mech, with almost any loadout(tag boat hunchback etc excluded)

I have a clan pack too, but be aware that you can't change the engine in the clan omnimechs so those 97kmph lights stay at that speed. I'm not sure if they will be limiting clan mechs to just clan use though, they may give additional bonuses when using clan mechs as a Clan member when CW releases but I don't think they will be limiting the mechs a customer can play regardless of faction.

The main thing I learned in this thread is that there is a player stats tab... I had no clue...
