The Walking UndeadMech - Your K/D ratio is less than 25%.

First, do not further encourage ecm chicken play style. There are allready enough ******** that think they are a good player because of some fractions value.

Second, the walking Undead achievement should be given to a player who lost both side torsos, diverse number of components and still did survived the game scoring a certain amount of kills.

Interesting. Looking forward to it.
What is also intreresting is the general course of development the Game takes.
Other games deliver a general framework with key components( e.g.: Battlesystem / tactical system ( this is what we have), Social sector, economic system, strategic system ) and then adds some adornments and achivements to hunt for. MWO adds first the shineys and then the game. But never mind its interesting to whatch.

Would be even more interesting if there were fun achivements.
Like Number of disconnects for exsample.
*Disco Rider* you've been diconnected from the game the 10th time in the worst possible moment for your team.
Or *Hammered by Meta* you got Facehugged and swarmed by lights 10 times in a row or you've been shot the 10th time in your back by an dual ac20 Jager.

It would add some fun to a game that gets more hillarious day by day.
Lets make some completely ludicrous out of this game on purpose before it gets that way all by itself.

But never mind I have fun.
Its a bit like whatching a highway with a loose sewer cower lain in its middle.
You see it and can't do anything about it just waiting till it happens. Can't even look away because its so thrilling to wait for the crash.

Awesome.

Any chance we'll get colour or pattern unlocks for some of the achievements?

finally, this topic is going in a constructive way.
Well, loosing both side torsos is a tricky thing to reward. I do understand the value of it, but it will encourage people to run away after loosing both side torsos (which is quite easy to do, if you go for this achievement) and hide somewhere in shutdown.
Rewarding for percentage of health left makes much more sense and it's more skill dependant, so I definitely vote for this kind of achievement. <_<

I distinctly remember that it was mentioned that stats will no longer be wiped since we went open Beta. Another lie from PGI.

interesting.

I HOPE that we will have access to the old stats. I know Russ tweeted that he believed we would.

Each and every time PGI has come forthwith something new, I have been surprised at how much I liked it. I may not always agree with their direction, implementation, or even the idea(s), but in most cases I have been happy with the outcome.

Looking forward to this as well. I have some mechs I dont really use because my stats on them are terrible. When I first started playing this game back in Closed Beta, I had to use a laptop that would just barely render the game. At that point, I used a lot of LRMs and my KDR was terrible. Trying to bring that stat up after SOOO many matches has been a slow grind. With this put in, I can actually see how bad a player I am, lol.

Thanx for another addition to the game that will make solo players see some 'fun' in what they are doing other than just shooting other mechs.

I'm a little divided on how I feel about this. On the one hand, I can use my current stats to crudely track my progress over the last 10 months of playing (using the individual Mech Stats), so I hate to seem them get stopped at the next patch. On the other hand, a stats reset will give me a "blank slate" and I can now get a better idea of my current stats without having to adjust for stats gained earlier in my MechWarrior-ing career.

If I have to call it a good or a bad move, I'd go with good, but still unnecessary. I cannot think of even one occasion where anyone said, "I wish this game had achievements." There are plenty of other things PGI could be doing to produce a better game experience. I won't list them here, since there are already enough "I hate PGI because..." threads, and that certainly is not my goal here. I like MWO, and I think PGI is handling the game pretty damn well; it's nowhere near perfect, or really even finished, but it is far from broken or unplayable.

I guess what I'm saying is, please stop fiddling around with all of the peripheral crap and make the game even better.

TL;DR: Probably a good move, but an unneeded one.

As many of us have said in other threads. Please don't make us achieve again what we already have. If there's a 6000 match achievement, for example, I've already earned it. 4500 kills? Will I ever play enough to get those scores ever again? I don't know. But I'll tell you this: not getting credit for what I've already accomplished is not going to motivate me to do it again. I've already paid my dues and earned many achievements.

Don't invalidate all that I've done.

It's not right, it's not fair and in fact: it's disrespectful and insulting.

There should be lifetime achievements parallel to the seasonal ones. We closed Beta and open beta testers don't expect much; but we do expect that what we've accomplished counts for SOMETHING.

Wonderful.

"You have unlocked the deleted statistics achievement"

Few things are as immersive for a game as achievements. Perhaps you should add (batman style) in-game positive support flying through your zoom window. "You hit your target: well done!". "Ouch! You fell of a ridge!". "Excellent, you got a kill!". "You did great!".

I have some suggestions
- Survive for 5 minute shut down in lava
- You have killed at least 3 teammates by an artillery strike
- Use advanced zoom for at least 5 minutes on end while using ERPPCS only and survive
- Die three times during a match by overheating

Peiper makes a good case. If the end result, though, is that I either get the achievements I've already earned, or start back at 0 and have to re-earn them, I don't think I care enough one way or the other. These achievements, unless they come with some other tangible reward (C-Bills, MC's, camo, color, etc.), are like gold stars in kindergarten: a pat on the back that otherwise means nothing.

Here are some achievements I'd like to see for faction fighting and for cadet incentives:

Training Achievements

Graduation
Requirement: Play 25 matches with cadet bonus
Reward:1 free Mechbay

Fully-Certified Mechwarrior
Requirement: Play 25 matches with cadet bonus
Reward:1 free mech of your choosing

Mech Raid Achievements

Fed-Com Killer
Requirements: Defeat 50 Steiner or Davion Players
Rewards: Commando COM-2D, Centurion CN9-D, Jagermech JM6-DD, Atlas AS7-D 4 Mechbays.

Bird Hunter
Requirements- Defeat 50 Marik Players
Rewards: Cicada CDA-3M, Quickdraw QKD-5M , Orion ON1-M, and Awesome AWS-9M 4 Mechbays.

Dragon Slayer
Requirements-Defeat 50 Kurita Players
Rewards: Jenner JR7-K, Kintaro KTO-19, Dragon DRG-5N, Atlas-AS7-RS with 4 Mechbays.

Another thing, there should be a notification to tell you the achievements that you've unlocked and the rewards you've got.

YES, we need tons of Faction specific achievements...There's really a chance to tap the plethora of BT lore here for these achievements.

...it will be nice to see how my play pans out without the months of pre-ELO pug stomping, no ghost heat on the 4P Hunchy, etc, etc. I think whoever said, the current system allows us to "crudely judge our skill" has it right.

So for 'Liquid Metal', we're going to see mechs dropping with arms full of small lasers and machine guns, and no arm armour? Well, that's not going to be at all annoying to the rest of the team...

This is the worry... people playing in matches trying to win merit badges instead of winning.

That was the C-bill/GXP and Mech XP themselves that people earned after matches that they said will no longer get swiped. These swipes only affect the stats (like KD ratio and the like). I'm sure someone with a better brain then myself can dig it up, but they specifically stated that there will be a stat swipe when Achievements get placed in.

Edited cause my grammar is teh sux...
