That build done right: BNC-3E

You had way to much ammo, and sad little secondary weapons.

3ac5's in the above build can fire continuously and still shed heat. Gets you about 3 volleys of PPC fire in with them while you close.

You don't need more ammo unless you're a painfully bad shot.

Just one question: Why in the world would you strip armor off the torso with the ammo?

I mean, surely you'd knock some off the dead arm first.

Because he wants that comedic effect of a jenner getting confused when a small laser explodes all the ammo.

Do you guys not get that the whole purpose of the Mech is to go BANG!! when it goes bang?

With that in mind, I've given it a few tweaks:

BNC-3E

Now with added overheating issues! Use that left arm like a champ!

No he doesnt have too much ammo. 4 tons ammo per AC5 is about right if your firing from range and still want enough for the end game.

you don't need to get ammo to amount for some set duration of continuous fire. If you're just suppressing and not even trying to hit use energy and the odd single shot (Yay Chain Fire!). 12 tons of ammo is 1800 damage. If you're only connecting with 2/3 of your shots, that's still 1200 damage: enough to get at least 4 kills on your own centerpunching Atlases, badly.

My build adds a pair of PC's. With a 35 point strike, I should be killing or disabling in just a couple hits... And I do.

Firing from range is no reason to miss. Firing from extremely long range where your weapons do very little damage is a waste of tonnage.

Too much ammo is a severe disadvantage. It makes your Mech more vulnerable, and it represents opportunity loss - in his case, punishing extra weapons he could have to push his burst damage up, extra cooling. All so he can fire a whole lot totally uselessly? That's just foolish.

I get that I run less ammo than most (and yet do extremely well and don't run out of ammo) but if you're burning much more, it's because you're doing something wrong(firinf outside of useful range, or simply missing way too often) and that build choice is definitely hurting you.

Wintersdark - I think you are missing the extremely important "fun" value of just going "DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA" for the entire match in the enemies general direction.

Efficient? No.
Effective? No.
Badass? Totally ^_^
