Thank you for the champion centi, i do kinda like it.

its not the greatest but it is for once a nice touch.

I would implore you (PGI) to take this kind of idea a few steps further.

ideas for PGI to consider

- make the FIRST mech a pilot ever buys for c-bills half off

- make the first 5 mechs a pilot buys (cbills only) fully refundable (no time limit), to let those with only 4 mech bays actually master a chassis or 2 while still only having 4-5 mech bays.

- make any c-bill mech (after the first 5 refunds have been used) fully refundable for at least an immediate tradeback or maybe even the first 24 hours. yes it is reasonable that all skill-tree progress would be nullified by a tradeback after the first 5.
to prevent pilots from just refund>buy next variant>repeat.

- offer mech bays for c-bills or otherwise regularly hold events to win mech bays. we should NOT have to buy them with real money all the time.

- offer some way to exchange or trade mechs/other crap if a pilot wants to get something different. IE give us a marketplace.

- give us alot more cool free stuff through cool or otherwise unique challanges IE
make X many assists in X many matches.
win X many assault/conq matches with a cap/counter win.
and just go with it and come up with as many crazy and strange or otherwise fun challenges as you can imagine.

The CN9-A© giveaway was a huge step in the right direction from a customer service and retention standpoint. I hope PGI sees it as a success and keeps the concept around.

Why? That's what the recruit bonus is for.

That's too easily abused. Cbills are meaningless--XP is the progression scheme.

Besides, it's not like making money is hard, and I mastered six 'mechs before I bought a mechbay.

Refunding spent XP is a huge programming mess, in all likelihood. And again, Cbills are meaningless.

I agree that mech bays need to be available by means other than MC, but I don't think cbills are the answer here, as I'd imagine mech bays are a huge part of this game's monetization that PGI probably can't afford to lose, literally.

Personally, I'd like to see a system whereby a player can gradually unlock additional mech bays, much like (for example) STO does ship slots. I suspect giveaways or contests that grant 'mech bays would also be wildly popular--I know my primary motivation for that free Centurion wasn't the 'mech, but the bay it came with.

This MAY be in the cards, but it's quite a ways off if so. They need to do other things first to get the game sorted, like CW, "dropship" mode, and a UI that works.

The problem with "crazy" and "strange" challenges is they're just that, and not a great deal of fun.

Again, I'd rather see them continue the trend started with the Champ Cent while they work on expanding content. If they're going to do anything with scoring methods, they need to adjust them first so that people playing to their 'mech's role are properly rewarded. An Atlas scoring points for kills and damage is fine; that's what it's supposed to do. A Raven should be rewarded more heavily for spotting, TAG/NARC use, protecting allies with AMS and ECM, and capturing points, and I'd be fine with not scoring for kills/damage at all if they got the above.

The problem with bonuses for the first time player is that you can create multiple accounts and specialize in a weight class. I know there are already players out there that have two accounts just so one can have 3 assault mechs, while the other account is something else, like 3 medium mechs.

I think the first 25 mission C-bill bonus is enough.

It does mean you cannot share your modules and C-blls between them, but that was just to get around the 4 mech bay limits, yet still have bays to buy more mechs. But, if you are a kid and have no disposable income, and your parents won't let you spend money on the game, they do things like this.

For me I don't mind spending money on a game I like, so I already have close to a battalion of mechs, camouflage for most of them, and a nice selection of paint colors. I even have some air fresheners for my Centurion-A, so getting another Centurion-A wasn't something I needed. I actually didn't bother to get that free Cent-A mech.

free paint schemes then? really i like free crap . and having actually pumped $500 into mech bays (sitting on 69, 11 free) and heros, phoenix package. i do feel a little spent out.

i dont really want to buy any clan pack after what Phoenix gave me, honestly i do feel like pgi stole most of my $120, but w/e you cant please everyone.

point being i do think PGI should be more generous with kickbacks and free crap especially to those that have already spent $500+, just a thought.

i like your feedback about the only thing i disagree with is the free mech bays, i do think PGI should offer around 3-4 mech bays every 6 months to a year to everyone.

or make it so when you buy any mech with MC it comes with a free bay, especially heros.

honestly it feels like a rip off dropping 6 mech bays worth of MC on a mech. why cant it come with a free mech bay?

also retroactive free crap would be nice again im sure im not the only one that has BOUGHT 50+ bays already.

eh the bay was cool but I already owned the mech. Just sold the non champ version since, why not?

I would think free mech bays could be in the way of Rank Progression with each faction. So as you gain favor with each faction, you gain certain perks with it.

Also having bi monthly challenges like the one we had for the mech bay would be one way to hand out some free stuff. However I would make it a LITTLE more challenging then that last one, especially for a mech bay.

Personally one extra 'Mech Bay after playing so many matches, a high end version of the cadet bonus, makes more sense than refunds. Something for the achievement system if it ever eventuates.

You should remove "Basically" from your post title as it WAS 100% free.
But those are pretty good ideas, might help liven things up a bit make some want to play more, retain some players ETC.
