Why do people care so much about damage?
If you can take out 6 enemy by pinpointing targeting vulnerable areas and do sub 1000 damage, you are by far a better pilot then somebody who does 1000 damage by spraying their weapons all over a mech like a pornstar.

Half of my team raged because the last enemy was a disco at spawn and I was a legged 4P about 2,000m out from the target. Still had a blast.

Build is a Wubshee - 4x LPL, 4x MLas, XL320 (it's actually 12 tons underweight because I can't afford a larger engine yet!)

I hit 1k per match often enough when I'm not being stupid or I get lucky. My best mechs are always my dakka dakka mechs (quad AC5 Jager and 6x C-U-AC/5 Dire Wolf). I've posted here before with my Quad AC/5 Jaeger, but here's my Dakka Wolf's most recent entry into the 1k club:

The nice thing about sitting in a Big mech is... sometimes the enemy just reacts in funny ways after comming around a corner and seeing an unexpected wall of Mech.
One of the kills was from a Nova who came around and the corner to chase our Raven who ran through the Caldera held by the enemy team... Saw me, fired an Alpha in my general direction and went Nova shutting down right infornt of me.

And being one Assault down on our team means more damage potential.
