That is not too bad then as far as XP goes. For those of you who tested it. I broke out my old Stalkers because they have always been kind of good to me. Last night I fought a Locust. I could not keep him in my sights most of the time even with max engine. I do not remember this. It has been a long time but as I remember it I have always been able to at least shoot at lights.

With the new movement will this get worse? I mean will Locusts bee even more spastic and Stalkers even more clumsy relative each other?

When you have lots of mechs, and only get enough C-Bills and xp to master like 15 of them, you'll realize how bad this can be. Especially since a mastered mech has such a huge performance advantage over a non-mastered one.

What does that even address? He is asking about whether or not there were mobility updates and you retrying to say that for the cost of 1.3 weapons modules (at the 45k c-bills a node price point), the new system is unreasonable despite providing abilities of many more.

Compared to buying 3 variants of a single chassis and only mastering one of them, it is actually a reduction in both XP and Cbill grind.

But in all other scenarios, like buying and mastering more than one variant of a chassis, it is an increase in grind.

As long as PGI makes good on refunding my C-Bills and XP I've invested so far, I'm good.

I have always been allot more annoyed at the "you need 3 variants to master one chassis" rule than anything else.

So anyone know about the mobility issues I mentioned? I went here https://www.reddit.c..._planner_alpha/ to get a look. I know that the values don't match but if it's like this I don't like it.

It's the most convoluted **** I have ever seen in a video game and this is from someone who played SWG Pre-CU and did a short stint in EVE.

It's like they took our skills plus modules and chopped it up in timy pieces, then sprinkled it randomly over a counterintuitive interface.

If IS mechs are de-quirked I'll have to get the entire mobility "tree" for a Stalker just to get it semi-mobile.

Saturday afternoon I took my EBJ for a spin. New loadout. I was a bit conserned, since Polar/skirmish. To my supprise, everything went great. Got 5 or so kills, my mech was mostly intact. At 11/4 we were looking for the last elusive Locust, when BAM! I got disconnected. Immediatly reconnect and get back to game only to see my mech getting destroyed from wandering off bounds.
In the end, 1K+ damage, 5 kills, 300k(ish) cbills, 2,5k(ish) EXP. No First victory/Premium time bonuses because of suicide. Dammit!

Got the fun experience of playing five matches in a row of nothing but Crimson Straits Conquest, with only two resulting in a win, both of which were Pyrrhic at best.

So, my whine is that I hate late night work projects. On the other hand, I am grateful that the forums exist to give me something to focus/take a break with between paragraphs. I may not get to play tonight, but at least I can argue about the game!

Apologies, I should have expanded on that.

He was having trouble with a stalker he hadn't used in a while vs a locust in that match up. I wanted to highlight that when you only get enough to master a few mechs, those less used ones become even more useless, because of the performance gap.

Meaning that the stalker he was in had a bad match, but it can be so much worse later on. Since he's more likely to leave that STK without any points in it, and will end up facing mastered mechs when piloting it, resulting in a massive performance gap, that further grows his frustration, and this time, it will be affecting most of his stable, not just that one stalker.

That can be solved if the we could be ranked by our individual mechs vs the current ranking system

It was a long time yes but the Stalker was my first Assault Mech. I've mastered them all even the Misery with points to spare. It always was a clumsy mech but I've never had any problem fighting lights in it. I might not have won all the time but this time I simply couldn't keep the Locust in my sights when he circled me.

The Locust is extreme right now. I was fighting one in a Centurion and was out of ammo. He was humping my leg and I couldn't depress my torso enough to use my MLs.

Saw an LRM boating Archer on my team begging for locks, then later on firing medium lasers at an enemy mech 900 meters away.

Am I that Jaded? When I see the new IS tech all I see are ways for people to make worse builds.... I see an Archer 5W with 9 rocket launchers, .... alpha once and you are as stick, appearing in the future.

Of course, I look at some of the new IS tech and think "Man, my blackjacks are gonna be monsters".. but that just me

yeah I saw those and thought I misread it that they were going to be one shot launchers and was wondering why even bother. unless they're firing salvos of ac20 rounds in each one, and you set them to different groups or chain fire there's no way their damage is worth taking. you shoot a half dozen times or so in a match and "ok i'm done" <disconnect, hop into next launcher mech>
