Seeing as the walk animation for the Direwolf is awful i thought i'd have a go at fixing it.

I've been that Urbie.

I've also been the Urbie with the most kills and damage.

I've even been the Urie that had more damage than the entire Assault lance.

And the team lost every time. At least I usually got an equal sign....

My first 5 or 6 games tonight were so bad on my part that I shut that **** down and went to the corner to grab another 15 pack. I apologize in advance for what is going to happen when I tap into that sweet, sweet, second 15 pack. Your only hope is that I pass out or break something important before then.

Ain't no wisdom coming from me tonight. It's apparent that today's challenge leaves me wondering why I still play this game. On the plus side, I moved up a tier.

People say hit reg in this game is fine... So i guess its normal for me to put 6 cerppcs and 18 cmpls into the Ct of a hellbringer at 60m and have it live

Can't brawl with my favorite, and can't brawl with what I'm running. I really, really want to brawl.

I've been watching a couple of wolfhound's over the last few days and damage clearly hasn't been registering on them. Saw a warhawk with four cerppc alpha a wolfhound twice and it's armour barely changed colour and the exposed side torso didn't change colour at all. It's paper doll did flash but 120 damage landing on an already damaged wolfhound should of brought it down period.

But then PPC's are the most unreliable weapon in game in terms of hit reg, they often don't register at all. Ssrm's on the other hand deal more damage more reliable all the time.

I don't know if the Urbanmech is OP or just stupid lucky, but I rarely have a bad game in one. One of the matches I played my 4LMG 2ERLL Urbie ended with five kills to my credit.

The first a Kit Fox that got the drop on me, the second an Arctic Wolf that got the drop on me, the third a Treb that was near death, the fourth a slightly unfreshed Catapult, and the fifth a crippled Marauder IIC that was getting papercutted by the remaining mechs on my team (A Lance of lights).

Not trying to humblebrag or anything, just... Why the hell can Urbies be so good. It's weird.

I think that most people think that the Urbie is a joke and focus other mechs. Plus, it spreads damage decently.

The armor quirks make it slight more durable than your average light. It needs this because its top speed is 105-ish KPH.

When running in a light wolf pack, other players tend to focus the Locusts and Arctic Cheetah's (the faster mechs) and ignore the Urbie.

When running in an assault lance, the Urbie is ignored as the other players are focusing the fatties. When you use the "R" key as your friend, it allows you to focus the bad spots and secure some kills.

I have even had lone assaults turn their backs to me and completely ignore me. Not the smartest thing to do, BTW.

However, since the Urbie is fun to play, I'm pretty sure that it has an appointment with the nerf-hammer.

So I'm sad in advance.

but just think of the irony though "urbies suck why put them in the game. did we mention they suck"

<PGI has announced a nerf to urban mechs in the upcoming patch. reason: they are making people look bad in their other mechs by outperforming them>

don't blame the urbie. blame the one dying to it

urbies are not OP. lots of fun to play, tanky for a litte, and can be very deadly
but, as i demonstrated in a game playing a thunderbolt top dog, if you know urbies they are not easy kills but kill able. 2 urbies dead to my 6 MPLs and a snub nose PPC. took out 4 urbie legs in record time. in their defense both urbies were MG heavy while i had fresh armor. also kept both of them in my forward arc and never gave a free shot to my back.
unfortunately all good mechs must met the nerf hammer .... long live the urbie

I have respect for Urbies or anyone who carries a crap-ton of MGs. Urbies are worthy of Rocket Pod 15-20 usage.

So, I MAY have finally (after owning the Collectors pack since launch) caught the "Urbitis"...

In my very first UM-R63 match out the gate, got 2 kills and almost 500 damage, and it felt...greeeeaaat!!!

P.S. In other news, the mouse I've used to play this since launch finally died on me, and has been replaced, so, any match in which I perform terribly and deliver a "stinker" can reasonably be blamed on the new mouse, right?

RIGHT?!!

P.P.S. That Urbie build is a super simple 3 MPL + 3 MG + max engine/armor etc thing, and I gotta say, that there is a leg-melter...lol

What's that word for when you're playing a Trial Wolfhound, and manage 5 kills, 2 assists, and 735 damage in a 12-7 loss, only to have the AS7-K pilot you couldn't quite kill at the very end before you died call you a "noob" in chat right after his King Crab and Hellbringer buddies save him from you?

Yeah, that word. Posted Image

P.P.P.S. Mouse movement is a bit squirrely on this new guy, and needs to be dialed in a bit, but so far so good.

I'll have to add myself to the roster. Along with The Underrated Locust, The Daily Whine, and The What Mech Challenge gangs that I tend to thrive amongst already. ;)
