Yeah, I can dig you there. My only beef with the new packs (outside of my already established gripe about the TRO 3058 mechs ), is that this pattern of big, high dollar, mech packs, so close on the heels of one another, is freaking killing me.

There's only so much money you can put into an online video game, in a given amount of time, without your wife seriously considering consulting a divorce attorney.

Can we just get a few solid months with nothing on the horizon...please? My freaking wallet needs the break, and as it is, there's no way in hell I'm drumming up another $120 to go into this game before the 28th, so the early adopter bonus is just plain out, and I mean Gold Khan mech levels of out. (yeah, no way in any level of any hell, that THAT one was going to get by the wife, I mean, we have 3 kids college educations to plan, and a house payment every month, though I guess the cat could go on the old chopping block to save us a little here and there ).

Please PGI...have mercy on the poor man. I am most definitely NOT the 1%.

*Edited to add...the C-Bills aren't the currency that's got me concerned.

one of the nice things about the resistance pack is that the xl250 needed for the panther came with the enforcers but still had to pay the DHS tax 3 times and ES FF

yep the IS mechs are a bargain compared to the Clan mechs

clan mechs are good right out of the box while IS needs, well every thing. pay me now or pay me latter

i know i am pretty well taped out here myself. too many packs and just not enough money. i almost bought mc on the sweet deal for the shadow hawk pack but pulled back. kind of glad i did with the 3rd wave here. grrr i guess i could eat roman noodles next month but if the woman finds out well..... this game is cutting into my other hobbies. that and this is the lean time of year for me. i can see were this is coming from. like a shark that can not stop swimming or it will drown, a business needs steady cash flow.

Things I've learned while trying to play anything that isn't an LRM boat during this challenge...

1). You will be shot in the back by ANYONE you stand in front of while trying to engage an enemy.
2). You will have a very difficult time getting a clear LoS to any enemy you are attempting to shoot, since everyone on your team will call all their neighbors, and they'll call all their extended family members, and they'll call all their friends, and they'll call everyone in the entire yellow pages listing for the greater metropolitan areas of New York, Tokyo, and Delhi, and they will ALL crowd your line of fire in attempt to GET. THAT. KILL.
3). You will be immediately annihilated by enemy LRM boats the second you peek your head out from behind a tower, building, mound of dirt, cardboard cutout of the 1981 Harlem Globetrotters squad you keep in your cockpit "just because", etc.
4). You will be praised by others for NOT being a "lame-ass", challenge grinding, kill stealing, cheese boating, cheapshooting cheater-face, bringing an LRM boat to the match, without a trace of irony, by people who are lobbing LRMs at the enemy mechs from the cockpits of their own LRM boats and pseudo-boats.

Yep...back to the KTO-18(C) for this little Mechwarrior.

*Edited to add, your team doesn't "win", so much as, stay closer together while blindly seeking kills than the other team, if you're lucky, which I guess during challenges means "winning".

im last one alive,atlas chases me and i manage to strip the bugger of his weapons,before that voip has been filling up with various swearing etc. so i just jump jet to safety,disconnect and LOL hard at the tie

Thing is Rip, look at it this way-do you really need any more mechs?
These wave 3 mechs will be little different to anything else. They will have ballistic slots, energy slots and missile slots. They won't have enough space to mount adequate weapons and will run stupidly hot. All you will get is a couple of cool looking things, which with patience you will get anyway for cbills. Is that worth $120...really?
I bought wave 2 and was gutted, the lynx and ferret are terribad, the hellbringer's saving grace is ecm and yes I love the Gargoyle but it's useless in any true competitive arena. $120.

My best advice is to get a couple of mechs from each class, with diverse loadouts and stick with that. Don't chase the poison carrot.

Came here to ***** about the usual weekend crap, challenge out and the assault pilots are busy shooting their own feet off, and rear armour of the mediums, and managing to scrape 200 damage.

But I think I'll change track, as like a lot here it seems, these packs are seriously starting to piss me off, not long ago paid out for full Resistance, and UrbanMech, before that, Wave 2.

Now I have SEVEN freaking days, to decide if I'm going to stump up $120 or lose out on a forth variant, which may or may not be available for C-bills at a later date, while not even the art work, is finished, for three of the mechs.

On top of that you can garantee, the camo for them won't be available until the third mech is in game, so it would appear that its o.k for us, to be given a very short period of time, to decide on handing over a not inconsiderable amount of money for virtual goods, while they can't produce, a mech's camo, on time, and in the FAQ's they tell us to allow for transaction time on our payment methods, to help them, not be overwhelmed with Support e-mails.

If this is such a FREAKING problem for you PGI, I suggest, you give people more damn time, to make up their minds !

PGI are starting to come across as sleazy money grabbing second hand car salesmen again, and can't blame IGP this time around. Getting harder and harder to want to bother with them anymore.

Sure I have the option of not paying, and if they keep producing this kind of bullshit, I won't be

also, if you put 160 damage to the side torso of an King Crab counts as kill stealing these days....
just because it died because it had a XL engine...
next mech i engaged was a grid iron... placed a alpha into the huge side torso along with 3 others...

also: people dont move with an atlas d-dc anymore.
my only conclusion: mine does not have LRMs and people are not used to d-dc brawlers anymore....
so if i have a d-dc in my team it usually has LRMS and camps the back OR i am the d-dc and the team camps because they think i have lrms....

coming up on the enemy...and I desync!!! quickly quit the match, try to rejoin...and it tries to put me in a match on Frozen City? then drops me back to the mechlab "Disconnected from game server" error message... WTF?

i find it really hard to leave somethign alive on purpose when sitting in a d-dc....
in the heat of the brawl its nearly impossible... it its the ac20 or the 3 srm6....
i have to defend myself so hard and trying to stay alive that i have to kill everything or die without anything. theres no other possibility these days lol
but no one can say that i dont deserve the kills the way i drive that thing

Challenge play in full effect..

Dire Wolfs, King crabs, etc. all chasing lights, desperate for a kill

Very few qualifying matches for me, and I'm playing in the Panther. Been a blast most times though.

22 wins
12 total kills
more assists than I can shake a stick at.


9 qualifying matches

All while doing basics on the Panther.

If they chase the squirrel... BE the squirrel and lead them to their DDDDOOOOOOOooooooooommmmmmm!!!!!

also alot more of the gauss/ppc combinations been seen. mainly from assaults camping somewhere.
worst thing i seen tho was a dire wolf on crimson strait walking to the island.... the sad thing was, half team from us rushed over saddle.
that been fine they cought some mechs unaware BUT.... i was the only one pushing through tunnel in my d-dc to get the flank up.... 5 other mechs kept camping under the platform....

hell i had 3 enemy assaults straight in front of my face, backs to me. if only the majority of players would be more clever and not the camping farts they usually are. even more in challenges.
