Look, I get what you're trying to say but it's all based on BS.

We want a skills based game, not one based on 'luck'.

You people have to analyze and look at the real reasons why the original makers of the TT version of this game chose 2D6 as the 'god of all things' when it came to hit location and 'to hit':

Creating a game that will allow more than 2, 3, 5, 20+ people to play a round in a reasonable amount of time requires that game play be as streamlined as possible. You start adding in aimed shots, and bringing out strings, and calculating angles of attack, heighth differences, speed of round, etc. etc. etc. etc., pretty soon it takes each person 30 minutes to figure out whether or not the weapon they've fired hit anything...

Not good for TT game play.

Plus, back in the day, EVERYONE had access to 2D6 and pencil. Making the game easy for friends to pull in more friends to play.

Some of the benefits you're talking about should be gained in other ways, though some others you list, I'm pretty sure, you're just trying to blow smoke up our butts...

"End LRM near uselessness"? Seriously? A randomized cone of fire does jack **** for that, it just makes EVERY OTHER weapon suffer the same 'randomness' the LRMs have.

"Expose aimbots"? You really need to think about that, the fact is, a CoF would make it MORE DIFFICULT, not easier to expose aimbots. CoF adds a 'randomness' that masks an aimbots 'pinpoint' tracking, adds misses where an aimbot normally wouldn't, and just plain 'muddies the water' when it comes to attempting to observe someone you think might be using one.

"Reduce FPS gameplay increasing simulator play" umm... Ok you'll need to explain that one. I'm missing what you intended to mean.

"Increase TTK"? No, not really. Trust me TTK won't increase much, if at all, with CoFs because MOST people "spray and pray" their fire. There's only a very low percentage of people who place thoughtful aimed shots at the enemy. The rest just fire hoping you'll blow up, without bothering to lock you as a target, and shoot at the very red side torso, or very red legs, just begging to quickly end your time in game. Plus, let's NOT make it easier to get away with standing out in the open being dumb jackass target because the game forces artificial missing...

"Give Targeting computers a real reason to exist", add a CoF so we have to buy devices that reduce CoF... :rolleyes:

"Close the range of combat without making any single weapon OP", umm, I think is just a silly notion.

"Make the gameplay mirror TT more", why not just force everyone to play in a top down view then? Seriously, this is a stupid argument PRIMARILY because in TT there was no FPV or hell, even "3rd person view" was only a TOP DOWN view.

"Add some much needed instability, randomness and chaos", as if dropping with 23 other random jackholes wasn't enough randomness and chaos...

I have a whine that Catapult K2 is much stronger than i remembered,i mean jesus,getting 800+ damage games with 2 ll 2 uac5-setup more than 3-4 times in 10.

im so glad i repurchased this mech

i have found that when i go back and play mechs i was not much good with back a bit i am better with them now. is it the quirks or am i just better at hiding and not getting killed in the first 2 min??

except the highlander that can not JJ over a curb. :( i miss being able to get 90 tons of fun on top of buildings :(

My whine is preemptive.

Ebon Jaguar / Cauldron Born - I know for a fact that this Mech is going to be trouble no matter what they put in it bc it is a very popular and versatile chassis. It's the Smoke Jaguar totem Mech I think and it was good in all of the MW games. So yeah....

Then missiles will be equal with the meta.

What's the complaint? We need more big maps. We need MASSIVE maps. That's what a sizable chunk of the community had been crying about for a while now. I know people complain about Alpine being massive, but honestly, I always wanted maps even bigger than Alpine.

ahem. the Heavy Metal can go into places where assault mechs fear to tread.

the thrust/climb speed in the JJ:s pathetic tho,better not to do that positioning mid battle or youre screwed.

Screw it all, my skills are burning out.
I'm consistently getting <200 damage in games now. LRM'd, Gauss'd, Laser'd - whatever sort of death you have in mind for me, I have experienced them all - don't bother.

On a scale of 1 to REKT, I am at 11 on the burn-o-meter. That's how pissed I am right now - with myself, and with the game. Reasons? Well, take a look at this:
  • No matter where I take cover, they always, ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL, find a way to break it.
  • No matter how much I shield, they always hit the Center Torso and/or the arm that carries my weapons.
  • No matter how much I aim, they always manage to spread it all over themselves.
  • No matter how good the mechs I pick up, they always have better mechs, for some reason that includes secret things that I somehow never gain.
  • No matter how well I play, they ALWAYS, ALWAYS beat me in the end.

F*CKING, F*CKING HELL. This is the worst of the worst, when the game itself is telling you that YOU SUCK, YOU SUCK, no matter how much training you go through, YOU STILL SUCK.

260+ ping, Wolvie-6K, Stalker-4N. It doesn't matter. I will still suck, and there will be someone willing to tell me to go hang myself for sucking at this game. ****. That's it, PGI, I've had enough of this crap. If all my skills don't do **** to help me get better, what else do I have left?Do you want me to be cannon fodder forever!?

That's fine. Really. You guys deserve to have a personal punching bag for you to feel good. Yeah, punch me forever. It's okay... it's fine. I'll survive. Really.

Yeah... stupid Oceania ping. Gotta get used to living with it. It's just frustrating seeing all your* claims about raising 500+ damage easily and me having to struggle with even 300 damage...

As for the douches... well, I say they're nuts for taking a game too seriously. But then again, here am I ranting on my own poor performance in a game, so I'm kind of hypocritical there :P

Not taking a break though, I'm still trying to run down this Premium Time. Never thought seven days of non-stop MechWarrior Online could be this frustrating... my Elo in the medium class is shot to hell now...

Well the thing is that would work in a turn based strategy game,not in a first person shooter with wonky hit detection.
You are just a broken record that cant adjust to change,and one of the reasons i really do hope that PGI does not take that silly "cone of fire" thing seriously. For example,CS:GO has a "random" recoil system that you can learn to compensate(or use hacks to do it,if you are lazy).

If people cant adjust to the time to kill,i mean its really high now,double the values of tabletop and all,its a time to take a break from the game.

If your elo drops low enough, you can roll people left, and right until you go back to your real Elo.

Hahahah, experienced that while going for Cadet bonuses in another account - Banshee-3M (C) was a beast there. You just never realize your skill growing until you replay from the lowest rank...

But anyways, not gonna stoop to that level though, I still prefer a bit of a challenge. I'm just frustrated by repeated failure, that's all. Thanks anyway, I appreciate the gesture.

No problem buddy. It's very awesome that you're still trucking on. My worst losing streak was 20 matches in a row, in one day. I wanted to put my head through a wall that day.

Damn, that's a lot. I can't bear to imagine the pain that you went through.
But enough of that, this thread needs more whine!

Pfft, why the poor hitreg, PGI? It renders Large Lasers useless for me - the IS LPL is my best friend, even though everyone else vouches for the LLs. Or maybe it's just my playstyle at work here - I prefer to be closer to my target for easier aim...

A broken record for broken mechanics and broken gameplay.

But that's okay. If PGI makes it to their now recently announced PvE expansion, I can return and play with friends and leave the sociopathic tryhard mire of PvP far behind.

I am so filled up with morons that are afraid to push 3 vs 6 whereas all 3 enemies are cored, because they might shoot back and then rather try to shoot someone in heavy cover on canyon until they get reinforcements and faceroll my team. Gj, please deinstall.
