You and I like different things matey I think. I'm used to cooperative gameplay across ALL online games I play. I really detest the hiding and cowering we have here in solo, I'm not keen on the selfish play to be honest. I lie that team, social feel y'know?
I'm much happier hearing voices in my headset than silence, I mean I take an hour or so but after that? I get bored of it. I guess people like me aren't made for team solomatch-shame cos' tis people like me that tend to spend much in game I get invested in.
I'm giving it one last go-gonna try and join a larger clan unit with my clan account and see how that goes. Because judging by forum whines the casuals just want more and more solo only stuff-which ain't my thing for an online game. I mean I played a flashpoint in SWTOR the other night-there was more speaking and tactic discussion and banter in that one hour FP than in my last 50 pug matches....and that is a very poor and sad reflection on our players.
Most anti social playerbase I have EVER seen has MWO.

Just played 6 games, 6 crushing defeats. Top damage of my team in 4 of those games. Means nothing though-I get nothing for it, my effort and play wasted each time. This is why it's no fun.

yeah....poor play is extremely bad tonight

had a drop on HPG... I was the only mech in the grid square....until a teammate runs over behind me and alphas me in the back, then blames me for "backing into it"

I asked him why the hell he even came near me to begin with...of course there was no reply...

A Commando, a Mist Lynx and a Spider standing next to each other. The Commando turns to the Spider and asks: Do you even lift, bro?

Edit: A Lurm Fox approachs the group and says: Get on my level, scrubs!

I just finished a match where our (sigh) Atlas-S had 4 Medium Lasers ...Yes! That's all!
Look upon him and tremble Dire Wolfes! He's gonna tickle you to death.
But he had awesome skills... in spraying. :(

oops! That was meant for the Headshaking, Facepalming build thread

Was just in a drop on crimson. Half my team proceed to chase a locust over the saddle at the moment the main enemy force decide to push bottom platform from B3. The chasers then decide to cap the base but stop just before full cap to come back and all die.

And from what i spectated, steering wheels...

My whine is about how broken the Clan is and how they attract the cheating crowd.
Dropped with my team in Puglandia and got overwhelmed twice by large well known teams playing for the clans. The matches were broken. Clearly someone (or more than one) were wallhacking. I see this from time to time and it is frustrating to say the least.
When PGI dropped 64 accounts in May it is clear that they avoided the majority of the 'botters.
Smarten up PGI. It's time to drop the hammer again.Steam is funny about that.

the majority of hackers that are well known names.
some of them obvious in hacking but still no ban.
just because they are popular.

Can't get my new signature to save due to a HTTP 500 error despite several tries and different methods. It makes me a sad panda.

Also, Two new Hero Mechs (yay) but no fluff/lore write up about them? (boo). PGI I WANT nay NEED the immersion to go up to my eyeballs when I play MechWarrior, and for that you gotta gimme something, ANYTHING.

A "hero" Mech, by (my) definition is one piloted by a hero. Someone who customized their Mech's loadout and paint job to suit their piloting style and personal flair. Why does "Top Dog" have 9 laser hardpoints? Why is "Quarantine" painted acid green with bio-hazard symbols? INTEREST ME. IMMERSE ME. MAKE ME CARE. Please.

In fact here: Top Dog and Quarantine that took me an hour to write up both. No excuse PGI.

Totally agree man! I was incredibly stoked when they added the Arrow, and then a bit perplexed when I saw the paint and loadout. Still, I really really love the lore based stuff.

I was really hoping that our TDR Hero would be "Dashing John" MacAllister's Toujours L'Audance. Would have been an awesome opportunity to have another mech with a built in warhorn like the Heavy Metal, and the fluff is awesome.

"Captain "Dashing John" MacAllister
Commander of MacAllister's Support Company of the Eridani Light Horse, "Dashing John" models himself after the heavy cavalry officers of ancient Earth history. A student of Napoleon, he is famous for going into battle with Terran-French martial music blaring from the external cockpit speakers of his Thunderbolt, the Toujours L'Audance. His men nearly worship him, and many have adapted bits of old-style Napoleonic uniforms as their trademark. MacAllister is known for his rear-guard actions in support of the Eridani Light Horse, and has tallied 26 kills of his own."

*Edited because whoa...formatting fail.

I'm trying to put more effort into this aspect of our write-ups, and over time you're going to see more of this. Just need to strengthen my BattleTech-fu a little more before getting into the more lore-dependent stuff.

AANNNDDD The Crowd...Goes...WILD!!!

Seriously Master Garden. Add my name to the list of lorejockeys who will be more than happy to "write for MC" just to support an IP that I've loved for years.

Haha, this is so true. I hate when I decide to scout or get behind the enemy to do some "chase the squirrel" in a locust or spider and suddenly realize I half the team followed me and I am leading "the charge" not stealthily getting behind enemy lines ;) I guess I need to be better about staring my intentions to my team...it just seems obvious if you are in a 60-70kph mech don't follow the 170kph mech across the map.

Haha! The bane of the PuGing Light pilot. No, not the Streakcrow, nor the Invincible Firestarter. Nay, it is your own team, who either - A: Tries to follow you as you attempt to distract or wreak havoc at the enemy rear, or, - B: Does NOT follow you, but then completely fails to exploit said distraction or havoc in any appreciable fashion.

But at least you got that perfectly placed UAV up, so that you can see where all the mechs that your team is hiding from are, after you die gloriously. ;)

they will die fast yes, but they have clan XL, clan weapons with engine swaps and ferro/endo switch ability. thats best of both worlds.
i like my IS highlander but as of now they wont be played when the IIC are out. just no match for them at any point anymore.

That was exactly my concern when I heard they'd been announced. All that Clan technology, with an IS style build? I really wonder how they will be balanced so that we don't end up with a CW where every premier Clan unit is hitting the front lines of their Invasion corridors in what are essentially meant to be "Garrison/Solhama/Reinforcements when your supply of Omnis is tapped out" type mechs. :P

There is a guy in my area with a septic truck/portapotties his slogan is: "Number 1 in the number 2 business." Another guy's is "A royal flush beats a full house." (I think the business name is royal flush) Just some marketing ideas for you ;)

BAHAHA!

I remember a plumber I saw once who had the slogan "Your **** is My Bread and Butter". It really did NOT inspire me to call his company, per se.

Large well known units rek the Clans when they play for IS as well...

People used to accuse Lords of hacking all the time. Yet i've never used hacks in any game, i've never even used a macro. Play the game long enough and you can predict which corners and ridges people will peek. Use of the mini map, seismic sensor, and target locks work wonders as well for knowing an enemy players movements allowing you to prefire them etc.

that might be true but that includes pure meta. large lasers all across. lots of gauss.
if you arent driving full meta you have barely any chance.

Dunno about that i watched an SJR group all bring Clan trials against a TCAF premade running meta IS and SJR won. I'm pretty sure teams like SJR, EmP, 228 etc could bring non meta IS builds and win quite a few games against Clans.
