My friend and I drop together quite often and use VoIP to coordinate our efforts, and we usually share end-of-match stats just for the fun of it. We've noticed a pattern that, in my opinion, makes no sense. Quite often we've noticed that whoever gets more assists earns more c-bills, relatively regardless of how much damage and kills the other gets.
For example, I'll do over 600 damage, kill 5 enemy mechs, and assist on two others, and earn a pitiful 84,000 c-bills. My friend, on the other hand, gets 1 kill but 5 assists and does 350ish damage, and makes closer to 100k c-bills. So... because I got lucky and got the lucky shots for kills, I get penalized? I know it's a team-based game and it's all about teamwork, but how is it right that dishing out above average damage and getting kills is not as rewarding as spraying missiles about and tapping every member of their team? Am I the only one that feels this way?

ya, its been like that way for a while, makes no sense. Originally kills gave more then assists, then a while back they swapped the two, and have yet to fix it so they give the SAME...like it should.

When you consider that you have to get at least 1 component destruction to get a kill then they give the same money, or at least i'm fairly sure it is the same. At least I remember thinking it was about the same a while back. I think damage should be of bigger importance though.

I'm guessing that spotting and targeting rewards aren't as high as they should be either.
