The Boondock Highlanders are a MechWarrior Online mercencary organization based off the planet Boondock in Davion space on the border of the Periphery. We are a medium RP group in that some of our members absolutely enjoy the BattleTech lore and some of our members know very little, if any. But the lore is important to our unit's background.
The Boondock Highlanders trace their lineage back to four distinct units: Murphy's Highlanders, the Boondock Expeditionary Militia, the Argonauts, and recently and oddly so to the 8th Lyran Regulars.
Jinjiro Kurita's mass murder at the Kentares Massacre in 2797 is what started it all....
Our group was formed by four former NCOs of the United States Marine Corps with vehicular combat experience in Iraq. The Boondock Highlanders utilize their experience and training by transfering it to game battle tactics. As such, we are formed and operate as a military unit with ranks and positions of command.
