So, chaff. The new consumable on it's way, available for MC soon! Want more then just the paltry C-bill chaff to fend off those LRMs? Load up the C-bill AND the MC type, for double success! Like coolshot!

Are you surprised?
The "shake reduction module" was treated the same way.The same patch that the module was introduced in....oh surprise! screen shake was increased for several weapons.

HSR makes PPC a powerful weapon
People start dropping in hexa-PPC stalkers
PPC boats run very hot
Devs release coolshot, and various hero mechs armed with PPC like Dragonslayer
Release a champion stalker LRM boat
buff LRM making many players upset about how the match behavior has been altered
Release Chaff consumable module
This is the kind of shit you get when a corporate money grubber dictates design decisions to the development team, or at the least, requires the development team to make strong considerations to micro transactions during design. it's why hero mechs very often show up armed with whatever the current meta loadout is, like a dragonslayer PPC/Gauss with jumpjets. Lots of players use it or are unhappy with something=lots of opportunity to sell some micro transaction crap.

It makes sence. I had forgotten about the upcoming Chaffs. However, LRMs were to easy to avoid before. The speed boost was a good thing.

So many design decisions in this game make a lot more sense if you just suppose they were made with marketing rather than playability in mind.
I had an epiphany when I wondered if UI 2.0 was designed by amateur psychologists, not UI designers. Increase clicks for engine/module swapping and make it difficult to find engines, make "check out" the button to save loadouts, hide relevant mech information at purchase to increase wasted CB spending... it all comes together.
The regular "balance" changes coupled with consumables/heroes is just one of many things.

LRMs were buffed because (regardless of the 20 or so people posting on the forum about how they're now "ruining" the game) the vast majority of players agreed they needed a buff.

Don't forget new LRM turrets in assault mode.

LRMs still need more buffs. Especially if chaff is being added.

No reason to waste money on chaff. LRM's are easy enough to deal with without it.
