Wow. LRMs pretty much kill anything anywhere near the open now.
Had a centurion on Crimson Straight, side of hill, Spider spotted and 2 trial stalkers launched - Centurion was legged, lost weapon arm and orange CT. That's some serious firepower.
Firestarter with AMS caught in open for 3 secs (running rock to rock) in that time a lone trial stalker launched one LRM salvo which outright killed me, from having had no damage (destroyed CT).

Im planning to play an LRM stalker, I figure anything that can carry plenty LRM tubes with some other weapons for backup (not that itll be required with current LRMs) will be the killer of choice.

(LRMs were fine there was no need to change them, under some circumstances they were over powered even, but now, my goodness those thing slaughter everything).

That's some slow ass Firestarter. You had 150 engine?

You just lost all credibility there.

On topic, my missile boats are Shawk-2D2, Jager-A, Catapult-A1, Highlander-733. And trial Stalker, for the achievement.

I don't own it, but Battlemaster-1S is helluva strong missile boat.

Single heat sink on that Atlas? I personally would put some of the LRM ammo on one of the Atlas's arms (the one you don't shield yourself with). No one shoots at Atlas' arms. My HGN-733 got 10 tons of LRM ammo on his right arm.

Not bad advice, But I like my Atlas... I will look into some upgrades, but I dont see a reason to mess with success. ;)

*shrug* I don't bother with "boats." I do, however, use LRMs as part of my loadout....and have changed up builds a bit to incorporate them.

As an example, my WVR-7K started out as a streakboat to chase lights....I swapped the three SSRM2s for 3 ALRM5s...and it seems to be working well.

A single 60-LRM salvo from a Stalker cannot one-shot a Firestarter- unless he hit you in the back and possibly blew your ammo to boot, considering AMS. Likewise, 120 missiles isn't enough to do that much damage to a Centurion. MULTIPLE launches, certainly- I got my "Creeping Death" achievement in a game where I ended up grinding Jenners and Cicadas to death under a pair of LRM 15's.

Heck, I've gotten perfect back shots on a Spider with my twin 15's- two in a row, in fact, he was spotting and didn't realize it - and I didn't kill the little bug with near-perfect hits. By comparison, I've done it with two MPLs and the light was a kill statistic on the second blast to the back CT.

Look on the bright side.
Well at least it was a couple missle boats that focused on you so you actually survived and had a chance to avoid it. As oppose to a couple 2ppc+2ac5 mechs taking you out from farther away with no ability to avoid them.

I present to you the, "I am not totally useless after I expend all my ammo" CPLT-C1.

I give to you the, "Clearly you are actually just insane" CPLT-C4.

Also for your consideration, "You are literally just trolling now" CPLT-A1.

Your third Mech I just couldn't run. It has no survivability. 4 salvos per Launcher is not a wise build.

Similar to my standard C4 build.

Interesting. Always fun to see assym builds.

ON1-V (My most succesful Pugging 'mech by far)

ON1-VA (A better troll)

Find a friend, and run 'em in a pair (one of each) and enjoy  Probablly the most succesful duoing builds I've ever ran...both set-up this way since the Orion release with only minor mood ammo/HS tweaks...
