Has anyone else noticed that AMS fire through walls? I don't know if they actually do hit the missiles, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. Why are the AMS firing through walls at something that they are hitting, or are firing at a wall wasting ammo?

Nerf: AMS right now should be more akin to ECM's in their current state IMO. You can set the AMS to either defend (you own mech) or support (other mechs). If you have the AMS set to defend, you don't shoot other missiles within range but get a bonus that missiles targeted on you are prioritized. If you have it set to support, them the AMS automatically targets the closest batch of missiles but has a .15 second delay (current LRM speed of 175 m/s that would be a 17.5M range/detection/shoot range nerf or about 180M where it is today) between detection range and actual firing. Sometimes, the missiles could be in range but not ever get a shot off.

Buff: Increase the damage output by the AMS by 2x and increase range to 200M. This does two things: first, it kills more missiles in its designated mode and also increases the effectiveness of the anti missile system overall.

Third: I want LAMS please. Make it weigh 1 ton kthx.

Laser Anti-Missle System is 1.5 Tons and uses 2 Critical Slots. It also, has not timeline conflictions. It's available to almost everyone before 3050.

I would use it if we had it. I prefer it over the Balistic version we have.

So it is essentially the exact same as a regular AMS excet it generates heat. I am cool with that. I remember it back in MW3 and thought it was the bees knees. I never played enough of MW3 to know in depth of how and why certain things happened.

It's always bothered me when it shoots through cover. Stupid AMS, save your ammo for when the missiles actually have a chance to hit me!!

It generates 7 heat over the 10 second turns in table top. Making it almost as negligable as the 3 heat Jump Jets generate over the same 10 second turn.

The notisable drawbacks that would translate in MWO are: Laser Anti-Missile System is not quite as effective at destroying missiles and a Pulse Laser (Which is what it uses to destroy missiles) firing into the air would be more noticable.
