I have to agree on this one.

Let's be honest. EVERYONE will want to use the Clan Mech. I wouldn't even be surprised if we only have Clan mech vs Clan mech for a time. With only 3 or 2 guy still feeling lucky and using there Atlas or Banshee.

Well, there are a few who might prefer to play as IS.

That sounds fine to me. Let public games be mixed tech and private/tournament play be restricted.

The butthurt here reminds me a little of the initial rage when the let Alliance players roll Shaman and Horde players roll Paladin in WoW lol :)

That is a really bad comparison. Fielding both mechs on the same account is not the same as playing in mixed clan/IS teams. If you want to compare it to WoW, it would be like Trolls and Dwarves against Orcs and Nightelves. It makes no ******* sense at all and puts the final nail into the coffin wherein the lore is rotting.

It will be Public, Faction, and Private. Faction play will still be on the public servers. That is, both the Public and Faction queues will use matchmaker to match players. Only the Private servers allow players to organize teams themselves.

Of course, nothing's stopping players from using the Private queues for roleplaying/faction play...it just won't count in CW. Only Faction play will count in CW.

Random. Public. Queue. =/= CW

It still has to be seen if the much-vaunted CW is going to really change anything. I highly doubt it will. It'll still be the same skermishes on the same maps we have, just with a modicum of context that doesn't matter to anyone.

Unless they did something like boost the rewards for using weaker mechs (and penalise those using more powerful mechs).

One solution would be to have Zelbriggen - If players violate the rules in a Clan mech they get penalised (so they end up not gaining exp / cbills as quickly or at all). You can't shoot at someone elses target without losing points - That would irritate most PUGs into using IS mechs some of the time.

IMHO, a 10 vs. 12, Zellbrigen enforced game mode would be great for those players who want it.

zelbriggen only applies if both sides use it. during the clan invasion the use of zelbriggen was almost completely limited to disputes between clans.

It would still be preferable to underpowered clan mechs or mixed teams.
