- Join a match as a Mechcommander and you spend the entire match in spectator-view as the 13th guy.
- Different from other spectators, a Mechcommander has access to the battlegrid.
- He can use the "Q"-functionality to scan teammates.
- His name appears in a different colour in team-chat.
- He cannot join any other match until this particular match is finished.

Rewards:
- Team wins: Mechcommander gets +50,000CB, +20GXP
Bonus: If at least 4 members of the team congratulate the Mechcommander by typing "mc" in the chat before a victory-condition is met, the Mechcommander's reward is doubled.
No other bonuses (e.g. cadet-bonus) apply.
- Team loses: Mechcommander gets -50,000CB, +0GXP

Lets add mech selfdestruction devices with large area dmg effect, which can be activated by the commander. That would increase the fun.

Greetings all,

Before you can be "promoted" to the role of a MechCommander, you must first complete the Achievements of being a "Lance" commander.

- Be in a 4 man Lance and win,
- Select the Lance Commander role during the drop screen.
- Have assist's more than kills, for team player plus's.
- All 4 Lance Mech's must survive the match.
- Complete this task more than 25 times for any chance of a Promotion.
- On completion of the required skills earn the "Badge" and title of MechCommander
(displayed at the Dropship screen only, friendly side only.)

~ More match's and Battles won playing as a Commander awards a ranked higher # beside your "Badge"
(company players in dropship screen could ask rated MechCommander's to provide Command position)

There must be a method to select any player that opt's for the Commander's Role, this can not be something that any noob can choose "just for laugh's". It's serious business for the Lance Jr. Commanders and the Company Commander. The Merc's depend on the outcome of the match to make any money and continue to function as a Merc Org.

Just some suggestions for your proposal, as it can not be a "Free view open to anyone".

You mean a pre-made lance? Other than that, I like your idea. Prove that your assists (Kill Assist, Spot Target...) can carry a team and earn an Achievement for that. Once the Achievement is unlocked, you can become Mechcommander.
Your team-members can see your statistics how you have fared as a Mechcommander (number of matches and win-loss-ratio of the last 100 matches).

And Mechwarriors shouldn't be FORCED to obey the orders of a Mechcommander, neither by rewards nor by punishments. His experience and reputation should be enough to keep his company in line.
"You want to win? Then you better do as I say and stop hunting that Spider."
