Is there a way to see the hard points, stats and what not in the new UI of the mechs I didn't buy?

Mech Stat In Mech Lab?

Sort of, yes.
Go to Mechlab, and at the top of the screen change your search parameters to "purchase-able".
Now if you mouse over a mech you will get it's stats, such as hardpoints, and max engine. Also, you can click the "mech details" blue button on the lower right and get a chart that shows that mechs current loadout so you can see where hardpoints are. Unused hardpoints are listed, plus the weapons already installed. Just do some mental addition and you can see an arm that has a medium laser in it, and an unused energy hardpoint means that arm has 2 energy hardpoints.
Not the best right now, but then again they seem to be redesigning the whole thing all over again, so we did in fact lose some features for the time being.
Or, just go to the Smurfy website and do your research offline.
