Anyone else tired of scrubs taking out your armor simply because they think your a damn enemyt mech when you come running around the corner?

I suggest a 1000 x C bill penalty per point of damage that you do to a friendly mech and a 100 XP per point of damage.

I am sick and tired of people shooting me simply because they can not aim and they do not take the time to realize I have a BLUE triangle over my flipping head.

We should be able to shoot light mechs too. If a light mech comes running around the corner I am gonna blast it before I check for triangles. And even if it is blue, I am gonna blast it again in case it's some kind of Capellan trickery.

I'm done with it, I am in a Jenner and have very little armor, going to start to core people, i am tired of half my armor being taken off simply because people take pop shots at mechs as I am chasing them.

While we are at it, why not impose a penalty for those who purposely cut off your line of fire so they can get the kill instead of you (who spent the last 45 seconds ripping the CT or torso armor off a mech, without any assistance).

How about we also impose a penalty against those that run right out in front of an AC2/5 mech streaming fire on a target.

No, instead PGI needs to adjust the C-Bill and XP award system to better reflect team play and award those who truly carry teams to victory, instead of damage and kills. And, if you get some dolt always firing alphas into your back, make sure to put them between you and the enemy lance. They make great meat shields. If they are constantly firing at you with no enemy mechs in the line of fire, report them.

I dont mind the odd shot in the heat of battle or as a reflex action to turning a corner, it happens. What really gets me going is when from the drop you have players just blast their team and weaken rear armour and the like. I think it should be a simple system that involves reporting players, if more than half your team reports a player for team damage during a game no creds or experience are earned. Get x amount during a 24 hour period short term ban, y amount in a week or a month longer ban. Till eventually that players account is cancelled.
Natural selection and simple community interactions would weed out the dumbasses in time.

this has been brought up numerous times. I still say no, I think an accident is an accident but abuse should be reported.

The problem is the MM and your ELO are adversely affected because some idiots do not know how to aim.

I did shoot a friendly Spider on Frozen City one time. Both came around the corner, Spider was running from a Streaktaro and it's red triangle was right above his head from my point of view. AC 20 was on cool down thankfully. Just in time for the Streaktaro though. Apoligized too.

As much as I like the thought of being able to punish those team-shooters, I think it would be a hard thing to work into the game - between accidental shots, mechs who run in front of you or are just plain horrible at aiming, I see more people getting punished who were innocent than the actual causer of the problem. :) (i.e. mechs who run in front of assaults and blame them for getting shot....)

As Laconicus said, I don't mind getting shot by a friendly once and a while because we all make mistakes, just when it rips a limb off (leg in particular) or cripples my mech and there is no apology, it's rather annoying and I would want to see a penalty placed upon them for it. (I run spiders most of the time, so no armour to spare! I also run behind allied mechs so I don't get in the path of fire )

Davers, you can simply look at your map fast, no? Instead of shooting an allied mech, just take a fast glance? :P

Anyway...hope something gets in place to punish consistent friendly fire.

Sometimes, it happens, that a light mech runs between my mech and the enemy fighting and it got hit.Because of this I had my first team kill last week.

When I hit a friendly mech it is all the time by accident and normally I write "sorry".

Punishment should only be applied if a considerable amount of DMG is applied during the match or at the beginning (for example first minute or in the starting area)

What about people who dive in front of you to get a killshot? Or larger mechs that muscle past you-because you in your tiny mech are "in their way?"
Or this is my favourite, larger mech pilots that just spray and pray at a target that me, in my light is engaging. they just blast away because they want the kill.
