Why are we so encouraged to play single player events in a team based game?

If I remember correctly, team-based events come with Community Warfare, which isn't ready yet.

While doing things to help the team and be a team player, you still perform as an individual.
Better question: why does someone always trot out this tired non sequitur for every tournament? We heard your nonsense comment the first time.

because it makes it fairer and as mentioned in official posts 84% of player do drop solo, very few play four man and less 12 man

Wrong. Running around "marking" every enemy to get assists doesn't help the team. Hold your fire until enemy is cored so you can get the "kill secured" doesn't help team. Playing for points is very different compared to playing for win.

Wrong. 84% of all "launches" are solo drops. The term "launches" are open for interpretation, and using 84% as a proof that the playerbase in general prefers solo drops is wrong in many aspects.

In my experience this weekend, this event was far more of a team based event than intended. There have been lots of accusations of sync-dropping during tourneys, but I've not noticed it much in porevious ones. Why? There was no incentive. Even if you did sync with a buddy or two, it wasn't all that fruitful to either of your tourney scores because all the damage/kills were watered down amongst you and your buddies.
This event seemed much different to me. With LRMs being adjusted, borked, OP, broken, or whatever you want to call the current state of LRMs, I noticed A LOT of players in my matches running with their usual groupings this time around. Why? Because with broken LRMs, a successful sync-drop can more effectively be exploited for a high tournament score.
