With the new range modules being introduced that have multiple tiers can it made possible that as a pilot you can skill towards higher tiers to include the higher skilled options but when coming to purchasing the modules themselves it is then possible to select any tier to purchase up to an including your skilled tier.

e.g. skill for AC5 is tier 4 means you can purchase modules 1 thru 4 as an option.

This flexibility in deciding on the tier you want to apply may allow some fine tuning and flexibility to how you apply the use of these modules whilst still skilling them for use.

Appreciate this may need a more intuitive element of the UI to then sub select the tier you wish to purchase as a module but overall more beneficial to pilot choice imho.

There are 3 main reasons we don’t have tiers
1/ size of the community
2/ development speed
3/ primitive pilot skill progression tracker

If the development of the game is only liner than new persons joining the game (in the ‘fourth secession war’s era or ‘world of blake’ era) may find that they have missed out the (‘clan war’s & ‘house wars’ eras) and no new content can be added to these game eras, neither can they be played. But if we had a tier system, you could play any era in a compliant battlemech/omimech. A tier system would allow new players to have simpler missions with simple equipment and provide veterans a sense of progression with more complex missions/ scenarios with more complex strategies and equipment. Allowing the adding of content to any era as well as linearly progressing the games main timeline.
