When advancing I want to see if a friendly mech or mechs I am advancing with have AMS or not, like you can see if they have ECM or not.

I hate to tell you this, but once you have a target locked on to, by pressing the r key, wait for a moment and it will give you a list of the opposing Mechs weapons, including AMS.

You could ask them, but there is no mechanic for telling the loadouts of friendly mechs currently. However, with the buff to LRM speed I have noticed a significant uptick in AMS use and since the "nerf" to the speed they'll be putting in today still leaves LRMs at 160m/s I would assume those installed AMS systems will be staying.

The best way for now is to look for the AMS "bulb" that would sit on either shoulder of the mech.
