In anticipation of my 'A La Carte' Masakari/Warhawk, I've decided to make a third 'mech design, although this time, due to having more important things on my mind. It's not going to be Minifigure size, so it will be significantly cheaper than my previous 'mech designs:

Dragon - http://mwomercs.com/...ego-dragon-ldd/

Hellhound - http://mwomercs.com/...-hellhound-ldd/

I think you guys do enjoy watching it develop and helping me out, so I thought I'd share this little project with you too. Well, here she is:Posted Image

So far I'm enjoying working at this scale. The smaller it is, the harder it is to get it right... I like a challenge. And as usual, any criticisms or niggles are very much welcome, as the legs may look nothing like the finished model when compared. The upper torso hasn't had much attention, just wanted to show the height as well as the turret design.

There are better hip joint options.

I definitely like the first one, thank you. I've grown not to trust the other option, as I've learnt the friction between the blue cylindrical piece and the piece holding it to be not that great at times, I've never liked how the cylinder piece is designed... Although, for the size I'm working at, might just be fine as long as the upper torso isn't too heavy.

I definitely like your legs for the scale you're doing it at. If it isn't going to be built in real life, go as close as resemblance as you want it to go. Also, feel free to take liberties with it's shape, because haters are gonna hate it no matter what. I'm assuming you're not going for a cockpit mini. Definitely like your color pallet, and legs. Can't wait to see more!

How'd you get those odds colors, as well as the Backdrop to drop the Background only get the Pieces? Because, that's a really cool effect I want to mimic. :D

Thanks! Once it's finished I'll consider buying the bricks using the Pick A Brick shop on the Lego website, as long as the price isn't over the top like my previous work, although I've already discussed how ridiculous Lego's prices have become.

I'm quite familiar with the term 'artistic license' :D, but I generally intend to match it to Alex's artwork, and for areas I can't see in his concept art I'll be referring to the MW4M version or any other designs I find that are particularly interesting... Unless they happen to surprise us with a little Clan teaser (that's your cue PGI)?

Just used the screenshot function in LDD, simples!

Any opinions or criticisms are very much welcome! Also, a prediction of £50 for the complete model: bear in mind this is Lego we're talking about, who are a shining example of giving value for money.

I feel like the toes are too stubby to support the mech. I don't know. Curious to see how you do the arms.

How'd you make your leg joints? Kind of jealous, and willing to learn.

That's what I was afraid of. I start from the legs, and work up, and it seems to always be the case that the legs (mainly the feet) seem to become outgrown by the upper torso. I'm fine with the general scale now, so I'll boost the feet a tad and give you a 'before and after' comparison.

The hip joints were thanks to Alcom Isst's suggestion. I'm excited for the arms ;), but what I was hoping to do is to predict the build I'll be running come the 17th June.

I am aware of there being ballistic variants, so I was wondering if anyone could inform me as to whether having at least one ballistic slot on each arm is going to be possible? (GIVE US INFO PGI!)

I'm not confident in knowing what this 'mech can carry in regards to the heaviest ballistics (Dual Ultra/20's or LBX-20's?) due to slot space, so if anyone could confirm the largest ballistics this 'mech could dual wield, if it can at all, I'd appreciate it!

One ballistic on each arm is possible, but one of the arms will JUST be a ballistic. Alpha has the LB-X on the RA. Bravo has a Gauss Rifle and an ERSLas on the LA. So 1B RA and 1B1E LA is available. Clan Ultra-20 can fit in arms, but you will be losing an actuator in the process that controls lateral movement. Up down only.

That said, the mech has 20 hardwired double heat sinks. It is a bit of a waste to ignore them to utilize ballistic weapons. Especially when Clan ERPPC hit like gauss rifles and Clan LPLas have around 600 meter range. ;)

Thanks for the info! Good point with the heat sinks, but just be lost tonnage. Although, I'd imagine they'll put a serious ghost heat nerf on running dual Ultra 20's, like they did with AC/20's to hinder the boom jagers?

Further foot rework and upper torso update. I know at this stage the model will topple forwards, but this will be counterbalance by the arms and rear of the 'mech.Posted Image Opinions and criticisms are welcome!

Posted ImageCompared to other interpretations of the Masakari/Warhawk, Alex's design has low slung arms, with the shoulders being extended horizontally and the lower arms hanging by the side of the upper legs, rather than raised above them. Due to this, as well as the restrictions of Lego pieces and the scale I'm working at, I've done a little improvising in regards to the shoulder joint to the torso. Opinions and thoughts of it are welcome, 'cause the more input from you guys, the better it will be :)
