10 good games for a million isn't bad in my opinion.

It is really not...those who don't understand that should go play WoT where if you do not have premium account and have a bad match you actually lose credits, want to talk about a tough to earn in game.
Maybe having played it (WoT) for so long makes me feel that the MWo economy is plenty adequate.

Stop being a grinding loser and join a unit for your Faction. You'll cease to bother about CBills when there's greater objectives than grinding them out.

Playing Pokemech is very expensive.

I started out with this goal - buy all the heroes and master every chassis. Then I realized that PGI can pump out mechs far faster than I could earn them, and I abandoned that particular aspect of my mild OCD.

Now I have goals but I mostly just play and occasionally notice that I've accumulated money. Broke 10 million today, decided to kit out a Jenner JR7-F. Have no money and a new toy. :-)

I can only second this comment.
The competition is a LOT WORSE. WoT can be horrific at higher tiers with cash loss and Warthunder...well....suffice to say I have never seen a grind like that in all the games I have played in my 15 years of online gaming......

MWO is paradise in comparison.

is he complaining about the earnings? or the grind?

With C-bills where they are now I think they should add Repair and Rearm back into the game. Make it COST MORE to use Missiles and all Ballistics. (keep armour cheap, make replacing weapons the most expensive and charge retail prices for the ammo) You would see more energy weapons for sure, and a new level of Balance in the game. Brawlers would rule, Snipers and Missile boats would have to carefully pick targets and people would have to use cover when moving or litteraly PAY the price for being foolish.

As for the Grind.... go cry me a river. Pick 6-10 chassies and become an expert with those and tweak them to your hearts content with Mods and consumables.

This is with mech bonus (+30%) and premium time (+50%)
The C-bill payout is flawed and doesn't adequately reward the players that are grinding

Maybe an MVP bonus?

Want glory take PPC/AC combo.

The choice is yours.

I make more money with a 2 AC/2 + LL Shadow Hawk (esp. because of the Phoenix variant C-Bill boost) than I did when I tested out Lurms a few times after this patch.

Yes, I am sure you did. AC2 is not known for its knock out punch... You can wrack up a respectable amount of Components and assists with the lil pee shooter. ;)

Games like these are rare. I just nailed my Cbill record though. Pity I don't have any premium time right now. 305k was my record with Premium and Hero before.

I don't get their reward system either.

Kills are generally the most important stat. Dead mechs don't kill teammates, hurt ones can. Caps are the most important if ended on caps. Not all component's are eqaul, destroying a HGN's RT should be worth more than blowing off its LA.

It seems too generalized. Should have more variables into payout. And needs an increase in amount imo.

The good news is with achievements you can earn so much more...Like 500CB award. That is a 0.5% bonus to a single game!

Not sure if I am misremembering this, but pretty sure that component destruction used to actually mean component destruction, not just one per section of the mech. I can definitely remember closed beta blowing off the shoulder of a HBK-4P and getting component assists like candy from a pinata though. That system seems to make a lot more sense than what we have now.

Ok op I see where you are coming from I think, i had to root about for a game broadly comparable to yours:
Posted Image
This was a good round in my firestarter H. You'll notice I did plenty of damage (no arty/As btw) similar assists and kills and a few less component destructions. Now factor in I use premium account and my payout would have been similar to yours....

Now let's take a look at a second example:
Posted Image

You'll notice I spotted a lot, similar amount of component destructions 1 LESS kill but 9 assists. I also did around half the damage of the previous game. Yet, I net far more cash...why?
Simple answer. In first game I had a good game, me. Second game I functioned better in the TEAM game. I spotted more, and spread my damage to weaken more targets for rest of my team to mop up.

MWO rewards team objectives more than personal ones.

Is this for real? Without mech bonus 123,000 cbills? Thats ok?! Maybe more people would play this game if it was not so absurd...

*Title is sarcasm. They definitely nerfed the cbill gain-rate recently...

How about you go and play a certain tank based MMO game, or another certain plane based MMO game, and then come back here and whine about rewards, mate....Seriously, get a grip, stop whining, things could be waaay worse than they are.

Not to mention, if you coughed up for some premium time, you would have earned 220,000 Cbills or so....5 games to make a million Cbills, and you aren't happy, Jeeeeeesus, talk about self entitlement, how about grow up.

And no, they didn't nerf the Cbill gain rate recently, it's all in your mind, or what passes for one...

*EPIC FACEPALM*

They simple have to remove the Credits for dealt damage -> after that they could adjust income for Assists, Kills, Spotting etc. much better.
Money for Damage is absurd... the higher your dps and the more ammunition you waste to bring down a target the more money you get - aiming for weak spots on the other hands isn't important.

I would like to point out again for people that can't read the whole thread, it doesn't matter how much you like getting bent over by World of Tanks, using their horrible model for grind to compare to this one is irrelevant. Just because the government is worse in North Korea doesn't mean you can't think yours is doing a poor job, does it? This thread is about how MWO earnings are percieved to be low and the grind in any other game is completely out of the scope of the discussion.

Edit: This weekend I've been getting consistent payouts between 180-230k and they feel like good numbers to me. It will still take some investment to buy something, but I don't feel shafted after every game. I believe that the average for a solid win should be around this number - obviously insta death losses would bring total average down some. Super performers would then earn 250k plus regularly, and premium would knock that up significantly - as it should, you're paying for it.

It's about 30k too low for me to keep caring about this game. At the present, you average MOD is about 3m bills. Some of the good ones (target retention) 6m. Average mech is 12m, heavy runs about 17m. I understand the F2P model (I've paid for this game too). It should not take me 170 OUTSTANDING games in a standard mech to afford another. Thats approximately 20 constant hours of gameplay averaging at least 100Kcb. (which is my current average with a 2.0K/D, mostly in my Muro). My point is, there is jack$hit for incentive to play hard. I might as well run around in an LRM ***** flipping through targets to get my 10 assists and not help the team.

This is a pretty common new player gripe, but you have been playing since 03 Nov 2011 as per your profile. That is 7 months longer than I have been playing. With an average of 90-95k per match I have managed to buy 30 mechs, an excessive amount of weapons/ammo/equipment, many an engine and several spares, and enough modules to fit out my 5 most commonly used mechs.

I am earning less than your example on average, have bought all of the above, AND have around 120m to spare, all without premium time except the time I got for the Overlord package (phoenix mechs are not included in the above 30 bought, those were pure C-Bill purchases).

I have to call your bluff on this one.

Whether my argument about other mmo's reward models is relevant or not is purely up to the individual, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion...

However, as you just said yourself, the rewards feel adequate to you, I happen to feel the same way, at no stage while playing MWO have I felt as though I am being inadequately rewarded, and have several times made enough Cbills in a single day to buy a new mech, (a small one), far less than the 170 games that the op states it takes him, hmmm let me see, average earnings of 95k per battle without premium, times 170 equals 16,150,000 Cbills, enough to buy the most expensive mech available, plus build it to any taste, or easily buy and equip 2 heavies, 3 mediums, or 4 lights.

Does the OP expect PGI to maybe GIVE him a free mech every time he logs on?...Would that seem fairer I wonder?....Honest to god, PGI aren't here to make this game out of the goodness of their hearts, they also have bills to pay, expenses to cover, all of which are ongoing, if people choose to buy premium to speed up the grind, then that is how they cover those bills, and no amount of whining about inadequate rewards will change the fact that they need to make money.

Whether or not other people choose to spend money on this game is of no interest to me, I choose to spend because I wish the game to stay alive, because I enjoy it. Rewards are well weighted by comparison to any other game I have played, period, not to mention that the cash grabbing attempts are far less prevalent by the same comparisons. You believe this to be irrelevant, I do not.

At the end of the day, gaming is SUPPOSED to be about having fun, and I do have fun, without worrying about my earnings, not to mention, that whilst playing MWO, my fun is never diluted by actually LOSING game currency, even after a fairly average to bad match. If people are gaming solely for the purpose of making game currency, the I would suggest that they have completely lost sight of the reason for playing in the first place.

I stand by my statement of the OP being self-entitled, this thread is rubbish, and should be canned.
