I would like to point out again for people that can't read the whole thread, it doesn't matter how much you like getting bent over by World of Tanks, using their horrible model for grind to compare to this one is irrelevant. Just because the government is worse in North Korea doesn't mean you can't think yours is doing a poor job, does it? This thread is about how MWO earnings are percieved to be low and the grind in any other game is completely out of the scope of the discussion.
Edit: This weekend I've been getting consistent payouts between 180-230k and they feel like good numbers to me. It will still take some investment to buy something, but I don't feel shafted after every game. I believe that the average for a solid win should be around this number - obviously insta death losses would bring total average down some. Super performers would then earn 250k plus regularly, and premium would knock that up significantly - as it should, you're paying for it.
Whether my argument about other mmo's reward models is relevant or not is purely up to the individual, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion...
However, as you just said yourself, the rewards feel adequate to you, I happen to feel the same way, at no stage while playing MWO have I felt as though I am being inadequately rewarded, and have several times made enough Cbills in a single day to buy a new mech, (a small one), far less than the 170 games that the op states it takes him, hmmm let me see, average earnings of 95k per battle without premium, times 170 equals 16,150,000 Cbills, enough to buy the most expensive mech available, plus build it to any taste, or easily buy and equip 2 heavies, 3 mediums, or 4 lights.
Does the OP expect PGI to maybe GIVE him a free mech every time he logs on?...Would that seem fairer I wonder?....Honest to god, PGI aren't here to make this game out of the goodness of their hearts, they also have bills to pay, expenses to cover, all of which are ongoing, if people choose to buy premium to speed up the grind, then that is how they cover those bills, and no amount of whining about inadequate rewards will change the fact that they need to make money.
Whether or not other people choose to spend money on this game is of no interest to me, I choose to spend because I wish the game to stay alive, because I enjoy it. Rewards are well weighted by comparison to any other game I have played, period, not to mention that the cash grabbing attempts are far less prevalent by the same comparisons. You believe this to be irrelevant, I do not.
At the end of the day, gaming is SUPPOSED to be about having fun, and I do have fun, without worrying about my earnings, not to mention, that whilst playing MWO, my fun is never diluted by actually LOSING game currency, even after a fairly average to bad match. If people are gaming solely for the purpose of making game currency, the I would suggest that they have completely lost sight of the reason for playing in the first place.
I stand by my statement of the OP being self-entitled, this thread is rubbish, and should be canned.
