I loved the BTC, use to play all the time. It was a sad day when they shut down, I went to D&B once when they got them and it sucked. The people didn't know how to run them, I knew more about the system than they did thanks to knowing some of the employees at the Chicago center. So I showed them a few thing, played a few games with my other team mates and we never went back being it was not the same as being at the center.

Luciora Genki, I have no idea if there is still a Modesto set, I heard that place closed and haven't heard of those pods resurfacing yet. That said if you played at Walnut Creek maybe you knew Deadeye and Thunderbear? They have been up here to The Airlock a couple of times since they found us last fall. Basically they take a long weekend and fly up here, and we round up the gang and play all night. They like to play Martian Football so it tends to be a lot of that on those weekends. Last time we played until long after Thunderbear had fallen asleep in his pod!

If you are looking for a fun way to spend a weekend let me know! We will do our best to hook you up! If you like Football you could even come up the same weekend those guys come up!

Thanks for the offer! Deadeye sounds faintly familiar, but I wasn't very good with remembering callsigns back then. Airlock is a bit out of my current range at the moment, but it does sound good.

I went to the ones they had in Las Vegas and San Diego back in the mid-90's... was an awesome experience but yeah a bit pricely. Being able to whoop up on my buddies though was priceless LOL

I had over 800 missions in Costa Mesa I still cringe at how much money I dropped there. I played Passadena, San Diego, and Las Vegas as well. So far I have only run accross one other player here that was a regular in Costa Mesa.

I played in both the Dave and Busters in Atlanta, GA and in the Wizards of the Coast Game Center in WA. Went by the callsign of Heatfreeze.

Only played about 20 missions at each site but it was so much fun every time.

I even remember playing enough missions that I started using the advanced controls at the WotC game center. That was such a blast, managing all those options.

Now a days I get my pod fix whenever MechCorp rolls into Atlanta for Dragoncon! I get there on Thursday and play till Monday. Its always a fantastic time!

I used to play at the center in Chicago at the Navy Pier building. I was a bit young though, so I'd have to have my parents bring me out that way. I probably visited a good 8-10 times, always had a blast. It was actually one of my favorite things to do in the area, aside from going to the Galaxy World arcade in the suburbs.

I played at the center in Walnut Creek CA back in the late eighties. Then later at Dave & Busters in Denver CO.

Good times. Powered by Apple IIRC.

I don't know about the old pods, but the current models have an Alienware as the base.

I knew Deadeye and Thunderbear, I played at the San Diego site. They would come down and visit, they were on some great Battletech teams that we used to duke it out with in site-link battles too.

I used to skip school and go play free at the one in Memorial City Mall in Houston,TX, back in the day.Always wondered why they were just gone one day. Wonder if I could get my hooves on one and pipe MWO into it.

And I'll have to poke my head into The Airlock sometime soon since its only about a hundred miles North of me on I-5. =P

Everytime I visited the LA area in the early 90s, I would go to Virtual World, and loved it - Definitely reinforced my affection for the MW2 games back then

@Garwulf: Ah yes... Exhillarama. Virtual World Outpost in Memorial City Mall. That was Houston's BattleTech Center.

I spent like 3 nights solid in ... '96-ish(?) at the Navy Pier location in Chicago while attending a convention. After moving to Denver a few years ago I managed to get in a few games for nostalgia sake at the location in Littleton. By that time the location they were in was already pretty run down and well on its way to closing. It looks like both sets of CO pods are now in storage... Hell, I might have bought the ones from Littleton had I known ... very cool piece of gaming history.

Played in Pasadena, CA for years. My wife worked there. Now we live in Minnesota and play at the Fallout Shelter Arcade site that's not too far from where we live.

Early 90's I had the chance to try em out in Chicago. I loved the after action report they sent you home with. I keep those for years.

I played with Deadeye and Thunderbear in Walnut Creek. Also played with Blackjack, Eric the Red, and Jabberwocky. My lance always included Death Dealer and sometimes Maniac Cop, I played as "Glitch" and play MWO with DD and MC now.
We used to get 8 people together and rent 8 pods for an hour. I remember sitting there at the bar planning the missions: Ring City, Badlands, pea soup...good times
I also remember them selling Battletech novels on site.
Be nice to hear from anyone who remembers playing with/against us
