I agree. It will be nice to have options when it comes to c-bill farming.
Not only that, but you can figure out the various playstyles, without having to deal with being penalized by the learning curve. You can Jenner, and learn how to scout. You can Catapult, and learn how to missile boat and play long range fire support. You can Hunchback, and learn to play stick and move, using terrain and things to get into your point blank range gut-busting knife fight. Or you can Atlas, and play a well rounded all-ranges 'Mech.
As opposed to say, buying a Raven, and getting blown into scrap for 100 games while you learn the proper bounce and scout mojo, or having a Centurion and not really realizing that it's a jack of all trades and master of none, trying to play it like a heavier 'Mech. Just the little things, while we get used to the changes in gameplay from previous versions of 'Mechwarrior PC games.
After all, it wasn't like you could play MW2: Mercs Netmech and then jump directly into MW4 Online play and get the exact same experience. Everything worked differently. Remember the giant floating energy balls of PPC with the big blue fire when it impacted?
Same thing with this game. I really think having a founder package of some sort will really help cushion the learning curve, without giving you a magical I-win button (Gold Ammo in World of Tanks, anyone? *BARF*)
