As I was having my morning constitutional a completely crazy thought stuck me. Many players have stated that autocannons are over the top and now the use of LRMs appears to be a wee bit controversial. So how might we find some "balance"? How about PGI modifies the coding a little and allows an AMS to be installed on any ballistics hardpoint? That way those who run ballistics mechs have to make a choice between offensive and defensive use of their hardpoints. Think about it. A Jager with multiple AMS but fewer autocannons.

Or go even more crazy, that AMS could take down balistic rounds ...

Do you mean that AMS and ballistic hardpoints are interchangeable? In other words, Mechs without ballistics will now get one in their current AMS slot? Or do you mean that additional AMS can be mounted on ballistic hardpoints but ballistic hardpoints can't be mounted on AMS?
I can see why PGI made the ECM body part specific but why make it so AMS max out at 1 or 2? I doubt we'll ever get to try your idea though.
(Maybe they should make BAP hardpoints so we don't start boating them

Remove all weapons from the game but SPLAS.
Balance fixed.
Real problem is that a lot of people look at weapon systems as an RPS, when in reality... well, let me use other MMO abilities as the example.
Ballistic weapons = Direct Damage
Energy weapons = Damage over Time
Missile weapons = Area of Effect.
If missiles are so OP, and since the patch I've used mostly my CPLT-C1 (f) (mostly because I'm sick of playing "Module Hunt"), and anyone who's ever played with me (or against me and been on the receiving end), knows I'm REALLY good with missiles (which the skill of which comes from knowing when and how to fire, not just alpha spamming)
Why do my stats reflect in 28 matches, I only have a 34.94% hit rate?
I think the QQ about missiles is coming from the psychological effect of them, not the actually damage from them.

I think he means ams can be put in any ballistic slot, on top of the existing ams slots. So you could have a crap load of ams but at the cost of ballistics.
