Started using UAC5 a little more found it to be good compliment on my Flame. Gave me a bit of rapid ranged fire to compliment 4 ML's.

Was playing other night and noticed while I kept getting hot planet drops. When mech temp was high I was Jamming like crazy... had one go where jammed after first shot 5+ times in a row(probably was 6 or 7 but initial few probably missed do to battle raging) during a busy fight and my temp was 80%+

Didn't do a huge amount of testing but even going into training grounds seemed that at higher temp gun would jam more often. Not nearly as bad as I saw in real battles but was a bit odd.

Obviously would need more evidence but was wondering if anyone else noticed something like this? I have since pulled the UAC5 as that jam fest really screwed me.

Does heat level affect jam rate on UAC?

Not that I'm aware of. It's a straight up percentage chance every time you double fire.

From what I noticed it seems to jam more if you hold down or fire it too close to the initial shot. Sometimes it will try to fire twice with 1 trigger pull (probably a bounce issue that PGI never bothered to filter) and it tend to jam every time that it does that. On a side note I have never seen it jam when chain firing 2 UACs.

This is a worthy topic of more research considering the Clans will be able to mount Ultra 2s, Ultra 10s or even Ultra 20s on literally every mech in the first wave considering the Omnipod system. :)

It has nothing to do with mech heat. It has everything to do with a RNG (random number generator), which is more or less like playing with dice.
