There is a lot of debate concerning Inner Sphere and the Clans, and some of that is being directed at weight classes when facing clan forces. If I remember correctly, the Inner Sphere did use Clan Mechs as well as components from Clan Mechs that they had captured.

Soooo, you want salvage?
Great idea, but then we would have to make fights more risky and less profitable for the loser or the influx of value will imbalance the pricing.

Hey, maybe somebody could make a Battletech game where we as mechwarriors struggle to keep our machines running with battlefield salvage and C-Bills and strive to salvage that amazing Clan ER-PPC to mount on our beloved Inner Sphere 'mech.
Yeah ... somebody ought to license Battletech and make a Mechwarrior game ...

Yes, but then they would have lots of mad customers, because those customers aren't good enough players to keep their 'Mechs running so they cannot play without spending real money.
Since, you know, by definition at least half of the players lose their 'Mechs every single match.
You would NOT want that game...

That was the whole point of trial 'Mechs, less the try before you buy, more the always have something to pilot even if your broke.

That WAS the point of trial mechs, except trial mechs are walking deathtraps and repair/rearm was an arbritrary deduction of funds which half the player base ignored. The game would require a much more complex salvage-based economy to function with a system like that.

F2P does not mix with that sort of gameplay, as awesome as it sounds.
Also I'm hoping Clan equipment won't be able to be equipped on IS Mechs. As long as they get the balance on Clan weapons somewhere good, I don't want to see IS Mechs running around with Clan weapons again, lore aside. Never again!

As much as I'd like to play "Nostalgic Mechgrognard Online RPG", it's simply impossible to find enough players who'd like to play it to sustain a game like that.

They have already confirmed PureTech. You want Clan weapons, you have to drive a Clan 'Mech.
